I've been subbed to you for like only 3 days and i dont usually comment, but i still wanna thank you for the guide videos you've made so far just because they're the most informative out of every one i watched and they really help since i took a massive break from Brawl Stars and practically forgot everything about this game ☠️ The video format is also nice due to rather simplistic editing and (unironically) bc of the soothing/calm voice; although it might be a personal preference, i just enjoy videos without too emotional narration. either way, way to go bud, good luck with your KZbin channel

bedlam, first congrats on blowing up your channel, i remember when the why you suck at ranked guide, had only 1k views, and from day to night, 50k, and it seems to keep on going, now at 160k. Secondly, peripheral trick, is something I learned when playing terraria, by fighting bosses, and when I applied it to brawl stars i felt like tensai I just didnt know that thing had a name. And that side to side comparison of the fps (according to a 60fps device, and a 120fps device), really help me understand why my characters movement felt so wobbly compared to pros. And last but not least, thank you for making the community understand the game is easier than what it really looks like.

Hey bedlam thank you for this guide. I took a massive break of like 3 years without playing so i had to learn how to play again an i can say your guide is actually really helpful, especially the in-depth analysis you did. I do dodge unconsciously most of the time and your explaining was really helpful to understand the types of dodging, against which type of aiming they're effective, etc. I also do have some short bursts where i play way better than usual and the rest of the time i play like shit as you said and this guide helped me to understand what i do. As example, i use that peripheral trick unconsciously when i'm fully focused on my dodging and now i know what it is and how to do it. The visualizing tip was the most helpful i think because i usually don't really do it but sometimes i do it which partially explains the short burts i was talking about earlier. As example, for curveball dodging people only say to remember the pattern of the curveball and to go to the safe zones but no one ever told me to visualize it and i just sometimes do it and then i can dodge curveball easily but i most of the time don't visualize it so i randomly go to a place i think is safe but it doesn't work. But now i understand how to do it thanks to your guide so thank you. Also the fact that you actually searched for the science behind all those tricks and tips makes your guide even more interesting and makes the explanation of tips clearer. I really appreciate it. Keep up the great work. I like your vids, they're really great and your explanations in general are really good too.

may have just found my new favorite brawl stars channel! I'm a huge biology and psychology nerd and agree with the statement that pros often do not know how to verbally express their technique in guides so this was not only increadibly useful but also encourages great introspection in ones own playstyle
@koc00902 ай бұрын
good concept on the use of peripheral vision. while you advice trying to focus on your character, depends on the size of your device, how far your eyes between your screen, i sometimes actually do not focus on anything on the screen at all. maybe more like having a peripheral vision on the whole screen, that my eyes were “looking” at the dead center of my phone but i m not focusing at a point, but trying to see the whole picture/screen better. i found myself doing this when i had to focus dodge 1 vs 2 or more. this will help me knowing what all of the enemies were doing, but this method has down sides on not catching smaller details. like Nani super(because it’s very small), Leon/Lily coming out from invis, or maybe a tick mine that’s been deployed for a while. Other than that, it worked pretty well for me trying to survive bullet rains from all angles while waiting for my bad randoms feeding again.

Finally someone talks about reaction dodging and ammo counting. I’ve been doing it for years and it’s what separates the casuals to the good players. Also, if you watch pro players play they will always have at least 1 ammo banked, so the enemy can’t use ammo counting cause they have the potential to shoot at any time. Amazing video!

I stopped playing this game for about two years or so, and coming back to so many characters and metas was definitely jarring to say the least. I’m happy to say your videos on the game helped so much to just really jump back into it. For instance, despite knowing how to strafe long distance attackers, I realized I wasn’t even bothering to strafe throwers properly like I do against Piper for example. Analyzing stuff like this makes some match ups that much more bareable

What I do in terms of grip technique is, I use the controller grip, but I put the gadget button all the way up so I can touch it with my index finger which works well since I play on an iPad with a really big screen. It mixes the upsides and downsides of both the techniques, and I see fairly good success with it.

Good vid but I have some points for your vid 1. the ping affects wayyy more then the hz rate 2. another disadvantage with the grip technique is also that you can rely less on your instincts meaning that you may or may not be slower for some 3. you could have made the vid shorter (talked faster, cut more stuff out)

For the grip techniques there's also the three finger method, where you have your thumbs on your joysticks and gadget+hc on the top right, where you use your index to activate. This is a bit uncomfortable especially on mobile but pros are you get the benefit from claw where you can use hc and gadget a lot easier while not having to relearn dodging and aiming. It does look weird but better than claw
@Solstice362 ай бұрын
Great video! I could discuss game theory and mechanics in relation to this for hours, but this is a pretty decent base guide for most players. One thing though, claw grip isn’t “playing with index fingers” it’s simply raising your index finger and hovering it over the gadget button, using your thumbs normally. On some cases like iKaoss and a few other pros, they use index to aim (not directly pointing at the screen 😅) and middle finger for gadget the same way you’d use index on the other method.

i love this video, understanding these things are such a big help and can motivate people to learn them better, because for me atleast i just hate that i think like "i'm pretty sure i already know everything about dodging so why aren't i improving??????!?!?!??!??!?!!!!!?????" but like you said "11:43" (not writing all of that) helps so i know i might not be as bad as i think but instead i just lack experience. anyhow i jsut wanted to add that if you consider using your 'claw grip' or fingy sleeves then you shouldn't really care about what others think, if you want to play better any means necessary then go for it absolutely!! do what's best for you!!!! chase your dreams and all that!!
@simonverbeeke8222 ай бұрын
great vid, but I think you can say a little bit more about different types of bullets. There is a big difference between a colt shot and an piper or belle shot, sometimes you want to run into a colt shot so you get hit less then if you walk in the same direction

One more addition to both the movement and the aim list each: -Bum rushing: Going so close to your opponent that every shot hits, regardless of the shooter. Defeats all the previous movement types, but you will take damage in the process (unless you're Edgar). -Izanagi (name inspired by Naruto): Using special abilities like Brock's gadget or Surge's super to just jump over the shots, or maybe Lou's gadget or Mortis' dash to avoid it in some other way. Beats every aim type (usually even bum rushing), but not every brawler can do that.
