Ok real talk, what you said about switching up your looks sometimes is SO true. I have this friend who wore casual streetwear/active fits all the time, never really thought much of her beyond friendship. One time recently she asked me to go to a wedding with her as a plus 1 and I was like yeah fuck it sounds fun. Y’all… picking her up for this wedding and seeing her in this gorgeous green dress… when I tell you a switch flipped I mean a switch FLIPPED. Within like 5 minutes I went from seeing her as “one of the bros” to just wanting to kiss her and treat her like my princess. Anyway we get pretty flirty when we hang out too so I’m probably gonna ask her out here soon. So yeah ladies, switching up your style can definitely have that effect on us guys.

I’m a guy and this is interesting hearing from a girl’s perspective. Ladies, I can tell you that a lot of times if a guy sees you as just a friend, it’s because you’ve been acting like a friend. If you flirt with him, make jokes about sex or dating, or even just straight up say you find him attractive, it can go a long way to make him see you as an option. It’s hard for guys to do this sometimes if they’re scared of rejection, but I imagine it’s even harder for women bc y’all aren’t usually making the first move. That’s why I recommend just flirting a bit and seeing his response and body language. Then you can decide when to take it a little further. Lastly, you need to decide what you really want. This applies for both guys and girls. If you show your interest in them or ask them out and they reject you, you need to tell them “that’s okay, thank you for your honesty. If you change your mind, you know where to find me.” And then CUT THEM LOOSE. Do not continue being friends with someone if you’re not happy with just being friends. Don’t sell yourself short. And just so you know, this very action can make them attracted to you, because you are confident and know what you want. You are telling them “we are not friends” and this removes the friend label from you in their mind. TLDR: if you don’t want to be in the friend zone, don’t act like a friend
