Most international students ask how to get part-time jobs in Canada. For international students, part-time jobs can alleviate some financial burden or help them get closer to their immigration goals. Whatever the case, it starts with how to find a job and how to apply. In this video, I share my experience on how I got my part time job in Canada as an international student. Hi Rachel! I'm intending to study in Canada this August. I just finished 12th grade in my home country and never had any experience in retail work. However I did join some student organizations while in high school and volunteered a lot. I also tutored some students (but I feel like it's not related to retail). Should I include all of these in my resume? What else can I do to increase my chance as someone with no experience? Thank you!

Is it okay to accept cash jobs? It will still be within 20hrs/week limit. Also, do you have video on how to file your taxes while you’re still a student.?

It’s generally not ok as this situation often leads to abuse of the worker and its not taxed. Unfortunately, I dont know much about taxes. Its best to seek this information from someone that knows!

Hi! From what I know, the minimum wage in Canada is around 15 CAD, and students are only allowed to work 20 hours in 1 week. That's 300 CAD in 1 week or 1,200 CAD in a month.

Hi Rachel! I've been watching your vlogs for quite some time now and I am planning to take my PDD at Langara College, Vancouver. I have done so many research about this city and I came across some articles and a youtube video about Vancouver being the loneliest city in the world. What are your insights and thoughts about this based on your personal experiences? Love your videos btw!

It felt lonely at first. But, eventually you will settle into life here. You will meet new people with similar interests. You will likely meet friends from school or colleagues from work. It just takes awhile. Either way, there are so many groups you can join for newcombers to this country. Its all about making effort to connect with people. I know many people don’t make the effort and complain that its lonely here in 😊

Hi!! What’s your input about aspiring intl students with work experience here in PH? I mean, is there any chance to score a part time job related to my work experience?
@rrdancel
@rrdancel 2 жыл бұрын
The answer to your question really depends on your work experience and whether that work is available and in demand here. Also, another thing to consider is whether your work is considered a regulated profession in Canada. Certain jobs are regulated, like accounting, law, or medicine. So, you will need to be properly licensed and registered in order to work in those fields.
