I am speechless . Your story is so similar to my own. It took me 2 months to land my first job here in Toronto. The scariest part was no getting calls at first and then having a real business conversation in your second language. Only after 10 interviews of practice I started to understand the gist of how you are selling yourself… and the moment when I called my parents home to say that I made it, that will be always a spark of proudness in my mind. Thanks for these videos!

I does kill your confidence whenever you don't hear back from companies or get rejected for positions you are OVERQUALIFIED for. Like what do you mean I can't stock shelves, I have a Bachelor's and work experience :((( i am okay working menial jobs at this point before I land a design job. But nobody replies

Hi! We've answered a similar question in this video "What everyone wants to know about Canada" kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZrZhqSjnqpghJIsi=PcIk0a_JBQD3JviS In short, I'd suggest you talk to an immigration lawyer or do your own research on Canada.ca to see if you can collect enough CRS score for any type of permanent residence visa taking into consideration different scenarios like you getting a job in Canada or studying here.

Engineering is the EASIEST field for newcomers to get a job in, this is a misleading video. Not to mention she work sin gas and oil which is one of Canada's top natural resources and natural resources is what we specialize in. I don't doubt the authenticity of this story, however, I would suggest watching videos from non STEM grads for their experience because it will be vastly different. Keep in mind, she is a young, attractive female and Canada has a lot of agism and we have strict DEI guidelines that most companies follow. Talk to a Canadian born citizen who doesn't have a STEM background and you will get the harsh truth of the job market here.

If you’re not in an in-demand profession, we do not recommend moving to Canada. We also do not recommend juniors to move to Canada, employers don’t want to spend time on training, they want people to be productive from day one.

Great video. Thank you. But I still have questions. It is hard to understand how Canadian recruiters' brains work. Many people say they run your resumes through the software to highlight better candidates for the role. Must be an old-style approach to check applicant's resumes without this handy software. What the hardest for me to realize is how a candidate tracks their own "fancy" achievements in percentages and so precisely - do they run a meter every morning when they clock in and clock out their work? Or do they just simply fabricate those numbers to stand out compared to other candidates? In my point of view, no one in the company shares the company's data with employees and employee's performance in the position. So just assuming that they draw numbers, like: "OK how much I made the sales to raise - 120%? Nouuu... Let's say 180%. Good job! That is done. Now, what's next... Amount of clients. Let's say due to my brilliant work doubled.... hmmm... no tripled! Great!!!" Could you explain this moment in one of your videos, please? I am eager to hear that, probably as millions of other immigrants in Canada. Thank you.

Yes you can start applying before you're in Canada. If you know you will be in Canada in a couple of weeks, you don't even need to specify it in your resume. It can be explained if you're contacted by an employer. But you better have a Canadian phone number to be available for the first interview. You were lucky that when you applying the market wasn't that competitive. If you try for a job now, It's literally impossible.

@@MakeThatChange Still you had over 5 years experience which makes you stand out. 2024 has seen a loss in overall job postings and extreme competition as compared to 2022 when there were a plethora of openings and the chances of landing something somewhere was good.

yup, being able to stand out is critical in the Canadian job market, employers don't want a mediocre professional. We always recommend to find "a professional edge" before even considering moving to Canada.

@@MakeThatChange you have a STEM background that is specifically related to an in demand field and much of Canada's economy rest in the oil industry. The job market is not healthy, proof of my claim is the unemployment rates increasing month after month. You are being biased when you say the job market is good. It might be healthy in your industry but overall it is not a healthy market, been living here for 44 years and it has neve been this dismal. You are using your singular experience to paint a false portrait that will mislead many newcomers and give them false hope. But at least you get the views!

@@MakeThatChange it's nice to have a positive outlook and it's very necessary, but you're making it sound a lot easier than it is. Also, you have the benefit of being pretty and white.... Also, I already have a good job. I'm more referring to the ocean of people immigrating here.

it's not easy at all. The video stresses the point that it takes strategy, focus and hard work to succeed. No other way, not unless you were born into a priveleged society and a rich family.
