My grandmother had a brush like this around 20 years ago. I "borrowed" it from her and never gave it back. It has been my most prized possession in my hair arsenal because I have never seen another one like it. I have treasured my brush for over 20 years! I am SO GLAD to see that someone has replicated it. Now I stop being scared that the brush might get lost or break, because I can replace it!

Amani Murph nope, grandmothers brush can't be replaced. I don't use a comb any longer but, I have my grandmothers 30 yrs old comb. She's been with The Lord 15 yrs now. Just put it in a safe place, lol.

That method can be achieved with the Denman as well. That's how I do mine and I get flawless curls ever time. Great vid. Thank you. Beautiful results. 👍
@taradise87 жыл бұрын
Yes, yes, yes! That Felicia Leatherwood brush made a world of difference in my curls once I got used to it. And I no longer get single strand knots. The Denman just didn't work for me either-it ripped out my hair too.

This video is right on time. I have the KareCo Tangle Buster brush (similar to the FL Detangler but larger) and the Soultanicals SPRUNG Coil Boosting Gelly. I would be SO GRATEFUL to have a way of defining my curls without shingling or finger curling every single piece of hair.

What's the difference from that and a denman brush?

@mrs.65467 жыл бұрын
Yvonne Rivera, hey there sweetie, I hope you are doing well. Some1 commented on here that they found a similar brush at Target for $2.99; but if that won't do, or they no longer have it, u might be able to find it online, maybe Amazon, or there might be an actual website for the brush: just google Felicia Leatherwood brush, and I am sure you'll find what your looking for.

Hey so after you’ve defined your curls to you go in with a defuser ? Or do you just let your hair air dry ? Will it frizz if you air dry it?
@TheManeObjective7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking! I hardly EVER use a diffuser. I don't have that kind of patience lol. The best investment I made in 2017 was a hooded dryer - it was like $80-something at Sally's, but it's super clutch. If it's too cold or too late in the day to air dry (which is my go-to), I'll sit under the dryer for 45min to 1 hour and then go about my day. Either way - I don't experience frizz. :)

Some people have more frizz. If someone has curly hair being loose, tight or kinkier. And frizz is taking over. There shouldn't be an issue if they want to smooth their hair to show their curls. No different than a 2 curl pattern female. Who's hair poofs when it dries. And so she uses mouse. Some women have to use thicker leave in, custards or gels. And that's an issue?

Hi there! Your hair looks gorgeous, and ever oh so healthy! Can you please tell me where to get that brush, and where to get that leave in conditioner, and the name of it again? Id like to try these products on my girls; they have LOADS of hair, and the strands themselves, are thin, & their hair is very porous. Ive tried everything on my babies, and its like layers of their hair are super healthy, and in other layers its real dry w alot of breakage, and theyre also very tenderheaded. Sigh. #frustratedmama I want so badly to keep their hair beautiful & healthy , but am really having a tough go if it, and of course, I never want yo do anything to hurt them or damage their hair, so i dont use heat for silk presses often, and my husband & I really dont want to use any chemicals on them. Their natural hair is lovely, and more natural products is best. Any other suggestions any1 can help us with? Thanks so much every1. God bless. 💝

tiffiny dawson I don't think so
@SisterFromAnotherPlanet7 жыл бұрын
Texlaxing is a process when you leave a relaxer on for a very short time so your hair isn't dead straight--almost like texurizing but not as drying.

Am I going crazy or what but isn't that a Denman brush your're using? lol
@shannh67247 жыл бұрын
You're still using a knock off denman brush and still shingling. So why the clickbait?!
@TheManeObjective7 жыл бұрын
MsShaye H it's not a knockoff denman - as others have stated, it's a different brush entirely. And shingling is literally defining curl-by-curl throughout the entire head - which I have no patience for or desire to do. Hence why I use the FL detangling brush in sections. The title of the video references two specific methods, which hold true in the video. There's an entire blog post to accompany this video as well, which goes into more detail. Did you by chance read it?
@shannh67247 жыл бұрын
TheManeObjective I just don't see why you titled the video this way, then do it. But ok honey. Smh
