Great video. I’m currently at 4/24 with chase and evaluating the best course of action for me if I pursue Marriott cards.

Did the automatic Platinum Bonvoy status for Amex Bonvoy Brilliant already expire? It doesn't show on any of the offers I see for the Amex Brilliant card

i’m a platinum elite member of marriott bonvoy but i honestly have no idea what it means please could you explain it all to me and how eveyrthing works clearly and in detail and i also don’t understand the benefits of it over normal marriott reward bonvoy points like i’m so confused

The website explains it all for you

I'm not sure if you are correct; from my recent experience if you book hotel with some else's name and you dont stay there, you dont get the points/rewards. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Can you make video how to keep the status for life and even for later generation through Marriott vacation club?

I'm almost a platinum member, no credit cards.

So once you get platinum status do you have to do 50 nights every year to keep the status?
@tonywang77783 жыл бұрын
If you get platinum now you will have it until February 2023

Hey Tony, I have a quick question about booking Cat 1 Marriott hotels if you don't plan on staying there just for the Elite nights. I'm not sure if you seen but Marriott just sent out an email about extending status in 2021. Also 40% standard rates on points redemptions, and a 2x elite night credits and points on stays until Feb. 21
@tonywang77783 жыл бұрын
Yup I did! those definitely opens more possibilities for this strategy. Do note that you need to physically check in to get the nights if you decide to do that, hang a do not disturb sign, and on the last day just checkout via the app remotely.

@@tonywang7778 I'm located in New Brunswick, and there is no Cat. 1 hotels in all of Atlantic Canada and unfortunately due to travel restrictions I'm unable to travel, so I was hoping there was a way to check in remotely. I'm starting this year with 28 elite nights, 15 from Amex Marriott and 13 from previous gold status from 2020. With the 2x Elite night credits on stays before Feb 21, I would only need to stay 11 nights before then. The cheapest way is the Cat 1 in Edmonton AB at 40.5k points. In my mind that would 100% be worth the points for Platinum Elite status for 22 months (rest of 2021 and all 2022).

@@Exp291 , I believe the 2x elite night credit promotion requires paid stays...
@tonywang77783 жыл бұрын
@@Exp291 Ahh, yeah 6/8 cat. 1s of canada are in Alberta. If you know anyone living near one you can always add them as a guest and tell them to check in for you. I think there's a remote check in feature too but don't think that will trigger the credits. I'm looking to do something similar myself this year too but I believe the double night thing will only be for paid stays
@Exp2913 жыл бұрын
@@tonywang7778 I just read through the terms and conditions and it's looks like you only have to pay for one of the nights and the rest can be a redemption of points

So if i stay at marriott property for 5 nights, does that mean i get 5 elite nights toward status?
