So today I cover the easiest method (in my opinion) to farm primal crystals, which are used to tame Crystal Wyverns. It's a very simple trap, similar to the popular giga trap, four stone gateways and then some pillars to add a roof so they can't fly out!! You need to knock out the wyverns to get their crystals, then fly away out of render distance, so it doesn't glitch out of the trap. Then after a few minutes come back to the trap.
Once you've gotten the crystals you can either use them to tame that wyvern you trapped, or perhaps kill that wyvern or let it free, if it's too low of a level. You can also either leave it in to knock it out once it wakes up (and regenerates it's crystals again) or get rid of it, then lure a new wyvern into the trap.

@@theeeveeh7107 It helps because if you get out of render distance before the wyvern wakes up, when you go back to the trap, the wyvern will still be in the trap and not agro. You can proceed to passive tame the wyvern with it's own primal crystals. Two birds in one stone. If the wyvern wakes up before you get out of render distance, it will be agro towards you or the structure. but if you get out of render distance and go back into render distance, the wyvern will render out of the trap. So you'll have to look for the same wyvern or another wyvern. Sometimes it's hard because there are spoiler times on primal crystals.

@@FhakaYu well, i may be mistaken but they're not aggressive creatures, stuff loses aggro after a period of time, doesn't that include the time till it wakes up? Or am i mistaken? Or are the wyvern an exception?

just get a net gun and practice using it on host ;net guns work on wyvrens so it’s op just make sure you don’t miss also knock them out to take the crystal just get far away make them chase and hit the net and boom they fall and are stuck then knock them out

Thank you. I was told I need primal crystal for the babies and was a little concerned on how to trap one efficiently. I just tamed a 180 (max on my server) female blood and a tribemate gave me a lvl 256 baby blood he just hatched. But have to keep it podded since I have no crystal. I set up my base in the white shoals so now I can start farming these guys.

I know I’m a little late but if you tame a daedon then you can just constantly heal the baby to raise it instead of having to get prime crystals

Ok so I got a question, I’ve been knocking out wyverns, and I’m only gathering 1 to 2 crystal each time, do higher lvl wyverns give you more? Also when you grab the crystal off the wyvern it says “recharging crystal”, how long do you have to wait for that timer until you can grab another crystal? If this can be answered it would be much appreciated. Also great video by the way 👍.

Nostalgia Zone yes higher level wyvern do give you more primal crystals, I actually think it’s based off their health not level (but higher level more more health, so more crystals) because I had a fairly high level wyvern but I accidentally nearly killed it but I only got like 1 or 2 primal crystals, so do try to deal less damage. I wasn’t entirely sure about the recharge time so after some quick googling haha, but according to dododex it takes roughly an hour to recharge, however I saw someone saying only 15 minutes, it might be less in solos or perhaps that person changed a server setting of some sort which changed the timer. I'll make this some what easier get a net shit if you got genesis part 2 and shoot it with it and nock it out "Edit" Forgot to mention sometimes you have to upload your character to the genesis map and unlock the engram and learn it there then go back to crystal isles and you should be good to go

yes you can but im pretty sure it only works if they walk over it, so either place it and hope they walk into OR lure them by dropping honey over the trap (idk if they changed the honey thing but i know that may work, it used to though) and thanks a lot :)

To tame a crystal wyvern hop on its back and feed it crystals it will eventually get tamed that trap is way to complicated

Yes male crystal wyverns still give primal crystals, but no you cannot get crystals from tamed crystal wyverns

that's actually a very valid point, I'd honestly guess so, although depends what you're playing on, if solos then I'd say yes because out of render distance means your world won't process the wyvern...in a sense...sort of lol but if on a server I'm not entirely sure, sorry :(

Well yes and no, yes it is very effective however it requires honey (unless he made a new one I’m not aware of) and it’s not exactly easy for new survivors to go to the honey cave, get honey, survive the bees and bears, bring it to a wyvern before it spoils and THEN knock out the wyvern. Plus this trap is reusable and each time you want to reuse it only one gateway.

I’m aware of this technique however the problem is this isn’t exactly easy early game since it’s not easy for new players to survive the honey cave and get the honey over to the wyvern in time, so in my opinion this technique is easier than the honey one for new players
