Nice vid. I think if you compare Berkshire (which is almost like an index itself) vs your 6 portfolios, it would outperform over all the timeframes you mentioned. Perhaps would be good material for another video ..

Take a look at Paul Merrimans US 4-Fund. It beats the total market over the 20/30 yr periods, but the rides a little smoother than the barbell.

Very good comments, volatility can be destructive. Peter Lynch from Meryll Lynch said : to invest, you don't need a brain, the most important organe is the stomach. Can you stomach the volatility ? lol, so true. To overcome that, I I have 3 years of savings in my bank account, I top it up whne the market runs well. I also sleep very well by not looking at the market "NOISE". Thanks

There is an even better fund that people are saying is even better than VTSAX called VTWAX. I’m going to look more into the VTWAX fund.

Results would be the same, S&P500 and the total market fund have extremely similar returns to eachother

i take it youre a Paul Merriman fan also ? ...hes been talking about the LCB/SCV evenly split portfolio for a while (S&P 500 , small cap value 50/50) .....i prefer (and use) his 4 FUND COMBO myself ..... its a 25/25/25/25 even split between LCB , LCV , SCB , SCV .... its track record over the last 80+ years is hard to argue with , and says way more than 30 years .... something is always doing better , so own all four
