Must be the year of the fly. My whole neighborhood has been infested since June. A multitude of methods have been tried, some successful, most not. Glue traps seem to work the best. When the winter season comes, I think I’ll leave the doors and windows open and go to a hotel for a while. Then upon returning hopefully a good vacuuming will rid us of this dilemma.

It's better then having flies land on you. These things actually poop on everything. Summer time your going to have flies regardless. It doesn't matter how clean your house is they'll want in.

When it's super hot, you need to CLOSE your windows and doors, draw curtains as well so heat stays outside ! Air your rooms at night 🙂 ... If you're too hot, make sure you drink a lot of water and splash yourself with cold water, DO NOT dry, let ambient air dry you off. You can also soak a hand towel in cold water and wear around your neck. Wear light ample clothes too... Of course use a fan as well ... Hope this helps.

Check under your crawl space beneath the house for dead animals.. You may even want to have pest control go on and treat under the house. Then dress the crawl space with a black tarp on the floor of it that way itll be nice clean and bug free under there.

I believe the cleanliness of one's home is not the issue. I have none of those issues, but I have a constant stream of few flies during the summer. It's not an infestation, but just enough to bother tf out of me while I'm reading or watching TV. I think they are looking to get out of the heat. I have these tiny flies (NOT GNATS/FRUIT FLIES) they are way smaller than house flies. They are mostly in my bathroom and kitchen. I clean both rooms sometimes more than once a day. I clean the cat box twice daily (strangely the flies don’t even go near the cat box) I thought that they might be drain flies, so I poured Fully concentrated Simple Green and boiling water down the drains, and it didn’t work. These flies don’t go near fruit either. I’m at my wits end. I am constantly wiping down counters and cleaning my floors. I can’t figure out the source. I just don’t know what else to do!! Perhaps fungus gnats? They live in the soil of potted plants! Water the top inch or so of the soil with 3% peroxide! Will kill the eggs! Water the top soil in the pots every week until they are gone! Peroxide shouldn't harm your plants! You should see a marked decrease in these gnats after the first application. Or two. But keep using the peroxide until they have been gone for a while. A week or two. Good luck!

Our fourth year in our house never had issues with flies. A couple or three comes in when we left the screen door open but we dont settle until we kill them. i can catch flies much easier with vinegar, soap, and peppermint oil in a spray bottle. But it doesnt keep them away like it would wasps and whatnot. But if I spray them it will knock them down long enough to kill and clean up with a papertowel.

@@KisDraga I use ginger(ground) the fly choke up and drop dead. with White or Apple Cider Finger. add or White Vinegar as there are few spice.i I put plate container and punch some hole so they can't come of the hole of empty container. They sure killed them. I also added wax string to nap fly and fruit fly 4 one by window, kitchen 1 in bathroom 2 in kitchen.

Have been sick in bed the last 10 days. Suddenly I have multiple flies in my apt. But I did bring potted plants in off my patio, for the winter. So I 'watered' my plants with peroxide 3%, and I used some Aqua net hair spray to spray them when sitting still (the house flies!). Soon they were gummed up and I was able to use a kleenex to dispatch them to the toilet! The hsir spray didn't kill them but they were unable to fly and I was able to catch them!!! I had sprayed them with peroxide but that was not so effective. I will try some borax and peroxide next or a few drops of Dawn dish soap in the peroxide! Certainly there is a home made, house hold solution to this sudden infestation. Being a licensed health care professional flies creep me out more than anything I deal with in the ER! Except guns, of coarse! Blood, vomit, poop, body tissue--- no problem. Dead people, no problem! Flies??? Drive me absolutely bonkers!!!

Paul, I know, they're driving me crazy, I haven't even been able to get a good night of sleep, I'm killing 3 or 4 on the daily and they're the big ones, it doesn't smell like dead animal so idk where they coming from.... besides the hair spray, what else did you end up using? How long it took to fix your fly problem? I'm so tired physically and mentally
