for KP on your body - you do Not need anything else except Olive oil and fine sugar. Put some sugar on ur hand(make sure the granulas of sugar are really small and fine,because if they are too big it will hurt ur skin more) and make it wet with oil and just scrub all ur body with it, specially back of ur arms and legs where shaving has left dots behind. Do this once a week, or twice if the problem is more intense and you will see how KP simply disappears but you get smooth skin instantly. IMPORTANT - wash off with warm water only, no soap so some of the oil stays on ur skin to nourish it after the treatment. Honey works as a good substitute for oil.

For people that have this and are teengagers, kids, or just young in general, do NOT worry. It's very common for young people, but as you grow and develop it'll most likely go away. Most youngsters build up too much protein, but as you get older your body will regulate itself. I used to have a lot of those bumps, i am now 14 and the bumps have died down A LOT. KP usually goes away by age 30 or maybe even younger. Try putting on coconut oil every day, it really helps!

I think it helps to keep up vitamin c too from eating berries and other fruits. Corkscrew hairs where they don't push through the surface are always found amongst my kp, and linked to scurvy. Thick skin and thin fine hairs are what causes a lot of my kp. Most important thing is to exfoliate and drink water. And try not to squeeze the bumps! I've got the disorder where I'm addicted to squeezing the bumps dermatillomania

It's called keratosis pilaris and it's a buildup of keratin, sometimes causing ingrown hairs. It mostly occurs on the upper arms and legs. Use Amlactin with the GREEN pump, not blue, to treat it. I also have occasional facial acne but it has nothing to do with KP. I have sensitive skin, and actually have dehydrated, not dry, skin on my face. I use hyluronic acid and moisturizer to treat that.

Now that I have two teenage boys I tried it on them too and it also was a success. Hope you try it!

AmLactin Alpha-Hydroxy Therapy Moisturizing Body Lotion has completely taken care of my KP (my worst problem areas were my thighs). It is like a miracle lotion. It used to be available by prescription only. My dermatologist prescribed it to me years ago when it was called Lac-Hydrin (12% lactic acid), but it is now sold over-the-counter as AmLactin. I buy it at Walgreens. It doesn't have a nice fragrance, but if you use it everyday you'll quickly see amazing results!

KP isn't acne at all. It's an overproduction of keratin (which is what hair is made of), which gets trapped under the skin. KP is so ridiculously common on the back of the arms and the face. It's almost hard to find people who don't have it on their arms. I have it all over my legs, but scrubbing off the excess skin and MOISTURIZING afterwards with gentle moisturizer is a great way to calm it down.

Keratosis is a symptom, not the disease. Do you have a family history of diabetes? When I quit milk, mine went away except for the small amount that I have on my thighs. Not everyone has red bumps. The red is a signal of inflammation.
@evacutiepie722610 жыл бұрын

@rockabillychola765410 жыл бұрын
Hispanics, Asians, Native Americans and Blacks should not drink milk. When you quit milk it will take up to a year for your skin to clear up. It's pronounced PEE LAR US. You're getting too many carbs. Avon has a good body wash with salicylic acid that works great. Once I got on insulin even more of the Keratosis went away.

Thank you for replying! I think you should see an endocrinologist. I came to believe that acne is a endocrinological problem rather than a dermatological one. It makes sense to me, cause we start having acne at puberty when, I guess, certain hormones become active. For some of us they are so diseased that acne persists throughout years. I'm almost 19 and just got rid of it.

The active ingredient of Aspirin is acetylsalicylic acid, which you can crush and mix with some water to make a paste to lather the problem area - this is a very effective way of getting acetylsalicylic acid to your skin and also very cost effective. I have found Dairy aggravates my KP and consuming this less helps too, as a more natural approach.

My dermatologist never told me I could make it go away or something. She told me when I grew out of my awkward teenage years it would go away on its own. So thank you for this :)

I have this!!! I just found out what it was called recently. I have it on my arms, but exfoliating and using cetaphil lotion helps me a lot. Also, I think it might have to do with hormones because once I stopped eating Dairy 90% of it went away. Thanks for this video xx

According to many alternative medicine doctors, keratosis on the back of the upper arms means that you are low in vitamin A (real vitamin A, not beta carotene).

Try a sugar scrub with lime and tea tree oil. I do it twice a week and I have noticed great results. And it’s organic :)

KP is when your body produces too much keratin, ( the stuff that makes your hair and nails grow, ) and your body doesn't know what to do with it, so it pushes it out of your pores. Hence the name Keratosis Pilaris. It doesn't cause you any harm. But it does turn heads. Something cheaper to use would be any face wash to clear out your pores, and use that on any skin that shows KP. when you get out of the shower, basically cover yourself in cocoa butter. i think when you use it for about a month, thats when you'll start seeing improvement to the point where it is literally almost gone. Good Luck :D

I have it on my whole entire arm, on my face, my stomach, my legs, everywhere. You name it it’s there. Everyone asks me if I’m cold, even though it’s like 100 degrees outside. I’m so very insecure about it and sometime I don’t want to go to school because I’m so embarrassed. I’m way to young to start getting any of these products that could potentially make it worse. I’m allergic to a lot of products that are supposed to make your skin better and softer. So. I’m very sad I have to live with it. But now I know I’m not the only one. Hopefully I find something soon💗😭

Bug -a- roo it can take up till you become 30 years old but u can use moisturizer and other products to help it clear up quicker

Smol._. Potato try moisturizer that’s what helped me. I still have them on my arms but it’s much less noticeable. If that doesn’t help lots of people have tried other products for ketrotosis specifically. (Search up) these should help reduce the bumps

As sides effects, besides curing acne, now my menstrual cycle is regular and my hair doesn't get greasy as much. I can't even believe how much influence some little hormone has in my body. I wish so much that all the girls having problems would do endocrinological tests :(

She said the ingrown hairs were also because her skin doesn't naturally exfoliate as frequently, which is the same reason she has the KP. :)

Can you do one about KP on the body? :)

I used to have this on my chest, and this may not be the reason, but when I went vegetarian, it went away.
