I've owned 3 of the large ones. I live in Florida. Running it about 7 or 8 mons out of the year, I get between 2 and 3 years out of the machine before having issues. A bottle of propane will last about 30 days. Strips lasted from 1 to 2 weeks. When the price of the machines jumped increased close to $500, I decided not to purchase them anymore and to try something different. I have been running the large Flotron bug zapper, around $80, for about a year and a half. It works great on mosquitos, but not too well on the black flies or yellow flies. Skeetervac is a GREAT machine, just turned a little too pricey for me when you consider the number of strips, then the bait and propane.

Shookmeister, thanks for the comment, all the way from FLA! My end conclusion is they are too expensive to operate, I will probably run for April/May each year to hammer the blackflies and then switch to a different product to deal with the mosquitoes for the remainder of the summer season (5 months total here). I'll take a look at the Flotron unit, very much appreciate you recommending it! Right on!

I got the 3100 and I would not buy another one. Not worth the money. It attracts all kinds of mosquitoes but it doesn't catch enough to make a difference. I have a $80 zapper that gets way more mosquitoes.

I am of the same opinion. Too expensive and doesn't do a good enough job. Do you know what zapper you have, I'm going to test a bunch of them out! Thanks for the comment! Right on!

where's the basket out of the SV15?

There is no vacuum and no basket in the SV15 - it's not actually a vac. It only puts out Carbon Dioxide and uses the Tac Trap (sticky paper) to catch the insects.... buyer beware although I don't find the vacuum effective on the SV-3100.... hope that helps. Right on!

SV15 looks like it would be the one I would get. How long did the propane last for that one?

Keith, I actually never got it out last year, but I will have another video out in June this year that will review the Dynatrap and two other methods that help interrupt the breeding cycle! Thanks for the Sub!
