Pirate or outlaw systems have a 5% spawn rate of s-class cabinets, little more than twice that of Rich systems. Same with s-class ships.

Really good rundown on how the multi-tool hunting works; it took a while, but I was finally able to find one thanks to this! It would have taken a lot longer if I hadn't known about how the weapon pools worked, and in the future if I see an S-class at a station I will know how to get it in a model that I like. Thanks!

Thanks for the video. It seems the 'pools' have now changed. I have now had two instances where there was an A class multitool in a Rich system, scanned for the minor settlement, got there and it was a C class. According to your video if there is an A class at the space station, there should either be an S, A or B at one of the settlements but this is not the case currently.

I feel like I was finding more types of MT's in the systems I checked than the number of planets. Like at least 3 or 4 more than that. After I visited every planet and checked the station, I still found more when I went to the minor settlements.

If it’s a rich or a medium economy you have a good chance to find the s class it’s all RNG like I said in the video if you found that weapon as a c class that means it won’t be an s class good luck bro 👍

I got the best weapons on my multitool but now I want my mining beam to mine faster. I have all S grade upgrades with a +20% mining speed. Should I be focusing on a different stat like fuel or heat?

I've only been playing for about a month, but I just set up one multitool as a weapon and the other for mining. My mining tool is an A class with three overcharged slots. I dropped the Optical Drill into one of the overcharged slots, which boosts the +50% resources mined up to a ridiculous +88%. I have two other mining boosts (one's an X, the other is an S) socketed into a line with the Mining Beam and the Optical Drill; I don't know how it works, but that's supposed to boost the efficacy, even though the numbers don't seem to change any in the descriptions, at least as far as I can tell. (You can certainly see the difference with weapon upgrades, though, as chaining them together will change the damage potential.) With the S class mod in another overcharged slot, that's giving me a +36% speed by itself, plus a little bit more from the X class that has less-impressive stats. I imagine if you could get good upgrades into overcharged slots it could get pretty ridiculous. I saw another video on KZbin that shows your mining speed actually increases as you get close to overheating, so there's sort of a sweet spot you'd want to hit for speed. It will take longer to hit that sweet spot if you have heat dispersion, but it should also mean you can sustain your mining longer when it gets there. Fuel Efficiency will just mean it doesn't run out of gas as quickly.
