Side Note: You will not progress their affection by giving multiple gifts/items on the same day, you must wait till the next day comes before giving another, i found this out by showering the elf Inn keeper with about 10 Bunch of Flowers and absolutely nothing happened (she did appreciate the gifts though) then i reloaded from Inn, gave some flowers, sat on the bench till next day, gave some more, sat, then a third bunch of flowers and she gave me an item in thanks, so keep this in mind, 3 good items is all you need, but Not on the same day.

I came back to the dude that gave a 20% discount from the quest later on in the game. And he no longer gives the discount. Perhaps affection drops off or the discounts are limited time.

I think quest-related discounts are not permanent, but discounts offered due to reaching max affinity do last forever

Honestly, hate this system. There needs to be like tags or something to tell you what category a gift is. I've been spamming flowers and gemstones to a merchant that likes "beautiful" gifts and she didn't like a single one. System makes no sense.

Well to be fair, there are only like 3 Gift items in the game, Bunch of Flowers, the Ring from finding a metric f*ck ton of Seeker Tokens, and the Necklace from preordering the game, which i think can be bought as a DLC. So did you give Random flowers you picked up or the Actual gift of flowers? This kinda of system has been since DD1 first released and it simply comes down to a case of trial and error. Dragon's Dogma does NOT hold your hand.

@@ForemostCrab7 I mean you can give ANYTHING as an item. The only thing I've seen labeled as a gift item is bundle of flowers.
@ForemostCrab79 ай бұрын
@@colossusslayer1234 Yes, but except for those 3 i mentioned, the items you can give are mainly Materials, with a few exceptions, both of which is used to upgrade gear, so i'd be weird to see a Cyclops eye labeled as say, a Fancy Item, it'd be Very confusing why a disgusting eye would be in the Fancy category of items. And again, no hand holding, since you'd never know in real life what someone would be interested in without first trying.

@@ForemostCrab7 I hear you, but still disagree. There's a line between not hand holding and being needlessly confusing or under designed. Being harder isn't automatically better designed or more fun, and this system sucks, period.
