How to get SPECIAL EDITION boot sounds on your Xbox 360

Great video. Some things to note would be that this can be done on all standard Slim Models(No E Slim). Any slim that was not already a Special Edition has a different speaker that does not recreate most sounds accurately. You can remove the through hole speakers and solder use a Gameboy Speaker (8 ohm 0.5w).

Wouldn’t solid core be better instead of stranded wire? It seems like it would have saved you a lot of frustration when the soldering was needed.

Yeah you’re probably right, although I haven’t found any NAND cables that have single strand wire on them, but definitely something that I will look into.

No nand cables are single core however you could add male dupont connectors to the end of the nand wires that would make it a lot easier

I have successfully done an RGH 3.0 to a Corna Xbox 360E (16 mb) using a Picoflasher which I used solid core 30 awg wire. I’m not sure if that counts but it’s what I used as my nand flasher to flash the nand. @@SwitchBrew

this mod is thankfully so much easier to do on a corona board, instead of having to solder to resistors you can solder wires directly onto a couple of pads connected to a raspberry pi pico, with the picoflasher firmware installed, you don't risk breaking off a resistor because your soldering iron got too hot or something lol

Adding some solid wire off of a through hole resistor to the ends of those wires and some heat shrink makes that loads easier and look better.

Those are more sturdy, though, meaning you might end up ripping off stuff, if you're not super careful.

Why not solder alligator clamps to the end of the wires so you don’t have to solder just clip program I clip and it would be much faster also would u be willing to do this service for people

I always wondered about this, I thought you had to change the speaker on the board and do something extra. Probably a dumb question but will this work on any trinity RGH 3 console, even if it is not a limited edition one?

Yeah this works on all Slim consoles, although this console was a special edition so already had the upgraded speaker needed for some sounds. I’ll be posting a video soon on how to upgrade the regular speakers.

You risk damaging the insulation when pre tinning wires, and you definitely don't have to do it. Also, is that your own RGH install in your profile picture?

@@TheModSmith This is my over 10 years old soldering. When RGH2 was develop. p.s.If You got over 30 years of soldering experience , you will not goin to damage insulation. Meanwhile I use NASE 2C Soldering Station, which is not $10 cheap one.
