Well i've watched this video now twice start to finish. 50 minutes in total - and i still have very little idea of how to get started. Looks to me like you paid a fairly expensive film crew/ PR agency and what they have done is taken your money, and made a very pretty film documenting the novice trial for you. It looks great stylistically but is hugely lacking in substance. I almost think it looks like the filmmakers and editors either didn't understand the subject enough themselves, or didn't care about it and were more focused on making an appealing aspirational film, instead of one that is actually informative. A word of warning to views: If you want to see footage of classic cars doing donuts and people looking all giddy saying how much fun they are having interspersed with close up shots of paperwork then you will not be disappointed. If on the other hand you want to learn how regularity rallys work, how to enter them, the standards of your fellow competitors, specific details about what equipment you need, and what prior learning you can do etc. etc. etc. then don't bother watching. You will learn precisely none of that. Its a promotional movie for HERO that is all.

I noticed a car flying over a major hump in the road. This begs the question “Are the roads closed?” Also, how do the regularity sections work? I am in Australia and in my mid-eighties, so I will never get closer than watching KZbin.

Do you have any guidelines on how to organise a rally? We're thinking about organising one, as it is one of the few things that can be organised at the moment (and it seems quite fun)

Go to hera wbst. Starting fun 3days 3classic cars from their garage 299queds. From there you rent several rallies and then you choose rallies and car to buy.
