Hopefully this helps get you guys in the right frame of mind to get strong fast. There's a lot of tips and tricks I learned in my early access to the game. I highly recommend getting the most out of your zones and focusing on your main characters first. One tip that works for me is that I like to start about every fight with Saber's 2nd Heavy Attack and then immediately switch back to Iori as soon as the sword wave makes contact. It takes so little meter that you can recover it before you need it and you get everyone down on the ground and free for Iori to wail on and get good chip damage going.

For anyone watching this after DLC 1 comes out, mallets can be farmed by doing the Keian Command championship and buying the 5 mallets between every fight

They didn't. Skill Trees are quite common. Baldur's Gate III has a skill tree. And Samurai Remnant's skill tree is fundamentally different from FFX's Sphere Grid in several major ways. It's just round-looking.
