Great information, thanks! Id be glad to know if possible, how the nature of the stay could influence on a positive answer. I mean, you gave the example of someone who'd live with a swedish citizen, but maybe you know if for a single person with a normal day to day job in sweden, of course willing to stay, usually the authorities answer is positive? Also I ended up curious on the complete time of the process. Of course that not exactly, each case is different, but it may be 5 years with permanent residency? Or renewable working residency counts? And more or less how much time for the process of the citizenship itself (like, since you ask for it. More or less 6 months, one year, two, etc.). I know I'm making way to many questions :) but once again, very nice and helpful video! Thanks!!

Thank you a lot! :) Yes, I know some people who managed to get Swedish citizenship even though single but with a normal job. The waiting process for citizenship (after you've sent the application) is really different in different cases, some people wait for 3 months, some for 6-8 months. I think it's 5 years of permanent residency, but I am not really sure, I would advise to check out the website of Migrationsverket for a better and correct answer :).

Hi Leila, Just came across your information video which is very informative, I have one question, currently I am in Sweden on a study permit so If I change my permit status to work permit provided I get a job then from the day I get my work permit I have to continuously be in Sweden for 5 years to be eligible for Swedish citizenship and passport right?

How do you live in Sweden when you don't have citizenship? I'm planning on moving somewhere in Scandinavia after college but I always hear that you have to live there in order to get a citizenship, but I thought you needed a citizenship to live in that country, no? If I got a stable job in Sweden or went to university there, would that allow me to live there? Please elaborate, this video already helped a lot but I'm still confused a bit 🙏

Firstly you need to write from where you belong EU or out of EU, I assume in case of EU you can travel to Sweden and look for job in your field after obtaining work permit you can leave Swede within 3 months. Come back to your previous country file your case in Sweden embassy from your current resident country origin, book appointment and get visa than move to Sweden, in case of our of EU you should apply online for work permit find employer who is willing to support you or student visa route. I hope it's will help

@@hina3918 O no no, they didn't do this and I don't think it's their normal practice to contact people for citizenship interviews. They just check people their own way and that's it. Actually, I think no one really knows what and how exactly they are checking people lol.

To be polite, most Swedish men adore and marry Asian women. Asian women in Sweden can obtain Swedish citizenship by marrying a Swedish man and adopting his surname; they have an easier time finding work and encounter no prejudice as other ethnicities such as Arabs, Muslims, and Africans do. So fortune is on their side. No offense to my Asian friends; I adore Asian folks; I'm simply stating the facts. Thailand and the Philippines have the largest Asian populations in Sweden. I've seen several Chinese over the years, but Swedish men only tend to marry spouses from Thailand and the Philippines because they believe they will take care of them as they are older; they are seeking for submissive housewives. In my opinion Asian women from Japan, china and South Korea are much more empowered and educated and deserve better countries.

That's not true. European men stick to their own kind in vast majority. Yes,there are some, but not most. The majority of those who marry Asian women are either very ugly and not successful Swedes or really old ones. I've never seen good looking wealthy and younger man married to an Asian girl. P.S. I am Asian girl. European men didn't approach me. :D hehe That's just stereotype other races women have in their minds. But I agree with your point, marriage is the easiset way to get the citizenship. :)

Then I've worked 2 years in Denmark. And believe me most local European men my age and a bit older ( I am 28) date their own kind, nothing bad on it. I am just sharing what I've seen with my own eyes. It's just a streotype they like us. haha I am also not ugly and quite tall (170 cm tall) and very fit,I am into sports. I still was invisible,they treated me nicely and friendly but never approached. Those countries are more into European standarts of beauty, like light hair blue or green eyes. But if Asian girl wants the citizenship only,she sure can marry an old man ;D Many very old men are interested in Asian or Black young girls.

For your information colored eyes are not divided into blue and green. Hazel and amber are other colors. In brazil, middle east and latin American colored eyes are common. You can see arabs with colored eyes but not so many asians. This is because arabs meet europeans in the past and mixed with them. However in monogolia colored eyed asians are common. Its true colored eyes are beautiful but dark eyes are gorgeous too especially with eyeliner. ❤
