After Queer Eye 2, I decided that if I could have gray hair like Tan's, then perhaps I could take the plunge. I started graying in my 20s and I'd been dying my hair since the age of 14. I had been considering letting my gray grow out for at least 3 years. I showed Tan's picture to my stylist and she assured me that even if my gray did not have the great gray/dark definition of Tan's, we could fake it with low lights and techniques that make gray hair pop. While I do add a few lowlights, I was delighted to find that I love my own patterns of dark and light! I love my gray, I love the compliments I get, and I love that I can be another example to women that it's OK go gray even in one's 40s. Plus, less time and money spent at the salon! Thank you, Tan.

Stopping coloring my hair about 4 years ago was the best beauty thing I've ever done. I never received compliments on my hair whilst still coloring. My hair is platinum now, long, healthy (because I stopped damaging it with color) and I get compliments often. I love it! :)

I started doing my hair like this two weeks ago... in those two weeks there have been more people (mostly women) texting me wantig to go drink coffee with me then ever before in the last 16 years (sidenote: I´m turning 16 in about 2 weeks xD) You made this young non-binary/transmaculine (still haven´t really figured it out) very, very happy! It feels like through such a simple thing like this I finally made it that people around me see me as who I really am, which s probably one of the best feelings ever! I really haven´t felt so comfortable and confident in a long time! It may look like a little thing to most people, but it is something really big for me! Thanks, Tan, you´ve changed my life for the better! also the french tuck works wonders! I do look like I´m actually not that chubby! :)

What I love the most about Tan France is his sensitive and compassionate nature. Just watch how he draws out the most withdrawn people on Queer Eye. He is a real sweetheart. However, what Tan omits in this video is that he has been blessed with the most strongest gorgeous hair imaginable. I could stand in front of my mirror with the exact same hairdryer and products that Tan is using and even after a thousand hours would NEVER get my thin frizzy curls to look like his. It is great that he is freely sharing his daily hair grooming but the real reason he is remembered and adored for that hair is in his genes! His babies are going to be very lucky if they inherit the Tan France hair gene (and of course the lovely face!)

I absolutely adore the no editing style Tan! Easy tutorials and very honest and it's lovely to see that in comparison to the overly produced stuff you see on youtube.

You can do your hair any way you'd like! Just keep in mind your lifestyle and your usual routine so you're not adding extra work to maintain a style unless you want to!

You were a great teacher of men’s styling! Even more detailed than I expected with less product use. Your natural curl is sort of a super power that you just seem to enhance and go with. I wondered if you use anything to lift or sculpt but it’s mostly brush technique.

This is actually crazy useful! I always style my hair with a tall fringe, but to get the height, I've been using mountains of gel 😂 Now I have seen the light! Thanks Tan

Love the tutorial 🙌🏼 Great to see the trick with oil in between sidekick and silver fox, rocks. We agree, that 5-7 min with the hairdryer is so, so well spent. You hair looks very good.

Curly Tan is such a joy (not unlike polished-hair Tan)!!! Ever considered rocking a natural look? Love you in every look you choose to share with us, and also thinking a lot about the societal expectations of Brown and Black folks to keep our hair "polished" and "professional". Recently started rocking my natural Desi girl curls and would love to know if there are ways you try to stay true to your roots (Urgh... puns). Thank you for sharing yourself with the rest of us!

I always find myself staring at your hair during the show Tan. For me, this is like a "how it's made" video and I couldn't be more intrigued. I wish getting hair coloured like yours was possible. Also, the way you pronounce squirrel is correct (in my Australian opinion).

It's your first tutorial but I think you're already doing great! You're really good at explaining stuff, you're detailed and make sure to show everything and you articulate yourself very well. And I think it helped that you didn't speed anything up, you can see better that way and I guess it also makes it feel a bit more real? Feels more achievable, I guess :) I don't have short hair right now, but will definitely be trying this out when I eventually go back to it! I think you'll be doing great, looking forward to see more of what you have to show :) (thanks for sharing your secrets with us btw 😂)
