If you guys need to grind, DONT go to the tents PLEASE. That takes genuinely way too long. Instead fast travel to the pumpkin house, then turn left and run down to where the old tanks are. There will always be 3 brotherhood of steel soldiers. Kill them, they WILL drop combat armour (and BOS variants) and helmets (60% of the time). Grinding is muuuuuuuch easier this way I promise you.

Even better if you don't want to risk being enemies with the BoS for the rest of your session, switch servers really quick and they'll be neutral again.

Thanks for these videos, this and especially the metal helmet one really helped. I noticed just by chance scraping these one at a time never unlocked them after a dozen attempts but when I finally just saved up 5 I got it first try.

Haha always the way - HINT: If you scrap the ALIEN BLASTER and the THIRST QUENCHER (both pistols) you can learn various other plans too - I have done a video on where to find the alien blaster - currently scrapping it will learn you some of the mods (I forget how many but it's 3 or 4 which can be learned by scrapping - you can only get the alien blaster weap plan from "Invaders from beyond" seasonal event} - and scrapping the THIRST QUENCHER gives you a 25% chance of learning how to build it - you can buy them from the Nuka Arcade prize terminal for 6000 points or if you have a friend who has already learned it, ask them to make you some as it will probably take about 6 to learn the plan.

I actually only JUST found out about this myself! I have never scrapped a combat armor helmet before, I always just sold them to the train station robots - What a silly sausage!

If you have a friend who already knows the plan, ask them to make you some helmets to scrap - 10 should be plenty. Good luck.

Fantastic! Just remember, don't pick up anything else apart from the combat armor helmets or the spawn chance will be removed for the item that was picked up (same as with the dresses at Fort Defiance - we always leave the white dresses alone so that the coloured ones have another chance to spawn) - the helmets will have another chance to respawn (after being picked up) once you clear your "memory" by collecting 250-300 pieces of junk and changing servers - I like to do that at Fort Defiance as there is heaps of random stuff to pick up there. I am not sure if doing it in an event like Rad Rumble counts for memory clearing so I always do it at a non-event location. Good Luck!

The one from the scoreboard? I spotted it in my "new" tab when I won it, but I would guess it's in the same spot as things like the shooting gallery games which is either in Floor Decor or Misc Structures (I think) - If you have only just won it in the last 24 hours have a look in your "new" tab too.

There are numerous locations but morgantown is the only one with 4 possible spawns on one table which is why I use it - I suggest staying in that location and jumping servers until it does spawn - don't pick up anything from the table until the helmet spawns or you will remove a spawn chance until your "pick up memory" is reset - another viewer suggested that you should be carrying 4 or 5 helmets before you scrap any of them as it gave him a better chance of learning the plan - if you have a few high level friends, ask them if they can make the helmet for you (if they already know the plan) and you can scrap those (also much easier to get the helmets if someone just makes them) - hang in there - it is a bit grindy to get them but you will get there if you keep going.

What other plans can be learnt this way? I thought scraping only unlocked mods for what’s been scraped

There are a number of different helmets that can be learned by scrapping things - the eyebot helmet, sentrybot helmet and assaultron helmet for instance (learned by scrapping particular parts that you get when you kill those robots) - most people learn those ones early on as there are plenty of robots to be shot in this game. I will have to do a bit of research to see what other things can be learned by scrapping (apart from the usual upgrade mods) - I do have a number of secret plan videos in my "cool free plans" playlist - some are common knowledge, some are not - check them out if you like.

If you can obtain four or five black powder rifles with bayonets attatched, scrap them, then you will have unlocked the bayonet.

If you have any friends in-game who know the plan already you could ask them to make you some so you can scrap them. I have another vid about the "metal helmet" which is another scrap-to-learn item - much easier to find as it is a fixed location spawn (whereas the combat helmet is a headwear item spawn which means the spawn could be one of a few things including the combat helmet) Keep trying and good luck!
