How to get the Hendrix sound using a Fuzz Face

This has been a quest of mine for many years!
I start with a clean amp tone.
Skip to 8:50 for a full on fuzz tone through a crunchy amp.
Hendrix had many tones and his sound continued to evolve. This is in the ballpark. To get more of an Isle of Wight tone, turn the amp up very loud. If you want more of a Monterey tone use a germanium fuzz for more warmth. I hope it helps.
I'm using a 62 reissue American Stratocaster (57/62 pickups). It's going through a Vox coil cable, into a Dunlop Hendrix Fuzz Face Mini (silicon). The amp is a Marshall JMP1C; it's a 1 watt, all valve amp.

Fret Junkies That’s. Fuzz is great when you finally discover how to use it, it took a a while. You have some excellent vids demonstrating that Doyle fuzz sound, which I love.

Doyle’s tone is something else man!! Live it just hits you in the gut and stays with you , a truly special show !! I’ve been searching out that tone like countless others , the bg Harding Zonk is easily the closest ive personally got!! Another great one which flys in under the radar but does that gated fuzz tone really well is the fuzz 292.. I have a charity raffle starting soon for the IVOR fuzz face , Doyle , Eric Johnson and countless others use them !! I think the waiting list is something silly like 2 years now?? I have a solid relationship with the builder who has sent out the pedal for charity , check it out man you might be interested ⭕️

Fret Junkies I would love to see Doyle live. I checked out your vids for those pedals and they sound great. His sound is hard to replicate but you are as close as I’ve heard. It’s all about the slightly starved bias!

I noticed you had the dod carcosa too, how does that compare to the fuzz face? can you make the dod sound a bit like a fuzz face? I'm not sure which one to get I'm a massive hendrix fan but also love all of the options of the carcosa, hoping you could help

Brandon Xoa it’s a good pedal but it’s more like an overdrive, it doesn’t do the Fuzz Face thing very well and it takes a while to dial in a sound as some of them aren’t usable. I ended up selling it but I still use the Hendrix fuzz. It’s warmer, cleans up better with the guitar volume and it has the classic fuzz face sound.
