A good reminder; my natural way on pedalling is to push only, perhaps encouraged by a stiff/reduced movement left angle resulting from a bad fracture and subsequent replacement ankle joint. However, when I switch my brain on and do as you recommend it does feel so much better, plus it's good to get my stiffer ankle working.....cheers

Some people i follow are just so naturally efficient riding the bike . It maybe a combination of natural ability ,the perfect body design and a very good bike fit . Being in a xc race watching these riders effortlessly pass me like i am standing still is impressive

Thanks for the pointers. I also set my seatpost so I can float/hover above my seat easier when pedaling over rough sections. I'll gladly give up a fraction of efficiency for a bit more comfort. Really helped me over gravel, cobblestones type terrain.

Peddle on cobblestone roads for starters. It'll rock you around a lot but it is very beginnerfriendly and won't end you like roots will sometimes :D

Very useful thank you, especially practicing at low and high cadence and how to pedal through a big. Just the right time of year for that one 😂

Great video!! Thanks for this interesting episode. I have never tried “clip-less” pedals, so it’s flat pedals all the way!

Very useful, thank you. A lot of the content here is geared towards DH practice wich is interesting, but this video is also really interesting. What I like is mountain bHiking (or cross country minus minus) so going up and being efficient is as important as going back down.

A coach once said to imagine that your trying to scrape dog poo off the sole of your shoe and that is the way to pedal
