i kind of do the first option where my off hand stays frozen but at 2:58 he says theres a part where the ball isn't guided. for me, this actually isn't the case because i place my off hand slightly on top of the ball/higher so that doesn't happen. pretty much like matt bonner's.

I watched this video that really explained how to put spin on the ball. Essentially you'll be using your fingers primarily to really put the spin on the ball, but when getting into proper form, have a gap between the bottom of your palm and the ball (the ball is resting on the fingers), so the release is effected by the fingers causing a hard back rotation on the wrist snap release

coach, I have changed to the thumb pointing the ceiling guide hand option from the all fingers facing to the ceiling, and then I noticed that the thumb pointing to the ceiling reduces lots of left or right deviation, but the thing is, it gives me tons of shoulder tensions which makes me missing ton of short shots. what should I do coach

don't rely on your guide hand to put too much pressure on the ball. Instead, once you're in your shot pocket, about to go up for the release, focus on your shooting hand and place your thumbs in a way that forms a cross, and once you flick the wrist, simply move your guide hands wrist forward with the release
