William Rootz you have an option to return them down the road. If you can’t get airfare, then at least keep the Sunday ticket. That’s the cheapest one, and it will qualify you for next years Pre Reg

NYCC I can't remember quite well, but it's much easier to get tickets for it. I don't know when open registration starts for NYCC, but if you go on their website, you should find instructions on how to get the tickets. But bottomline, it's much easier to get tickets for NYCC. Good luck!

NYCC and SDCC are not related. It's 2 completely different organizations. For 2021, I haven't seen any notice that NYCC is scheduled at all.

Hello. I am trying to get tickets for San Diego Comic-con 2020. I want to get tickets for me, my son-in-law or my daughter and my two grandchildren. I have followed your steps for making a membership and I have a few questions. My first question is are there V.I.P. Tickets to skip lines? Also, are there 90,000 people per day or 90,000 people in total? Do you think it’s possible that I can buy my grandson, my son-in-law / daughter, and myself? Also, My son-in-law / daughter will sign up as well to get my granddaughter and son-in-law / daughter in. Do you think I can get all of them in for 2020 or 2021? Finally, when does the e-mail usually come out? I’m sorry that this is quite a long comment, but my grandchildren love comic-cons and they’d really like to go. They said they don’t care which year, but I don’t them to wait to go when they’re in high school. Thank you very much.

Yes, that’s right! Make sure everyone who wants a chance to go to SDCC makes a member ID. Then have everyone participate during open registration to better your chances of getting an opportunity to get tickets. Good luck!

I am already registered for 2020 comic con and got the email saying that I can participate in open registration. I have someone that wants to go with me but they did not make a membership ID. If I make the ID for them before open registration can they go if I buy the ticket for them on my account as an added person?

​@@felishiaroel3992 I don't think so. From what it's been in the past, you need to have an account made BEFORE the open registration announcemnt goes out. However, see if your friend can make an account now, and have them watch out for any emails. Also, you'll know right away if they're eligible for 2020 open reg based on the login screen on the SDCC website. When they log in, on that first page it will either say "eligible" or "not eligible" for open registration 2020. Good luck!

Hey, so all you can do is register for now, then you have to wait for an email for open registration. That's not going to come for a while. And it varies. Sometimes they send it to you in October of the year prior. Sometimes it comes in January the year of. All you can do is wait.

My understanding of your situation is yes. As long as you have a ticket in your name (even just one day) for SDCC 2019, then next year you will get an email for both Return Registration and Open Registration. This year, I only got Sunday and Thursday, BUT it was good enough so next year I have two chances!

Jason Ung You should have at least gotten a form of confirmation email saying you made an account. But if you made your account from January to today, then you don’t qualify for SDCC2019, you’ll have to wait until the open registration email goes out for SDCC 2020. They typically send that out a week before open reg. For now make sure you can log into the main website.

Hey man, I'm from the UK and have always dreamed of going to SDCC since I was a kid, but I'm confused! If you get into the general registration can you buy multiple days for up to 3 people? For example can I buy Friday, Saturday and Sunday for me and 2 others in one session? or is it 1 day badge per person for 3 people?

Sorry for the late reply, didn't see a notification. So if you get in, then you can buy up to 3 tickets including yourself. That means yourself + 2 additional people. It's also one badge per person NOT for a group. Hope that helps for next year!

Yeah, you can buy multiple days for up to 3 people. So if you get in and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are available you can get all those days for up to 3 people. You can do all of that in a single session.

vicente quintero that is correct! You can buy tickets for up to 3 people including yourself. That being said, ticket quantities per day vary on availability. So you may get into the page where you can buy the tickets, but days may or may not be sold out. The waiting room website all update you on ticket quantities.

CraRay for 2019, you’ll have to make a member if by now. Open reg isn’t here yet it will be soon (pre reg was just announced for oct 12). So if you have your email member ID set up, wait for the email, and that will have directions for the website portal and date. Good luck!

Minna unfortunately there’s no set timeline. One year it was in oct, and another year it was in January. Really random so really watch for that email, and ask you friends if they’ve received one as the months come closer to SDCC

They'll give you a week in advance usually. There's no set schedule to when they announce open registration. My advice is to at least have another friend have an account, so you can check in with each other. But still, don't hold your breath, it's not coming anytime soon.

You won’t be able to get tickets for SDCC2019, you’ll have to wait for the open registration email for SDCC2020. For now, make your account so you’ll be ready to participate during open registration. Love your videos. Here's the thing my daughter, who is 17 years old and her friends have been nothing to talk about, con since that they were an elementary school I thought it would be a really amazing thing to try and get tickets for her and her friends for next year's Comic-Con being it's their senior year. I'm a younger parents so I definitely understand as far as trying to get tickets for concerts but this definitely is no concert LOL I totally understand this is literally a one-in-a-million chance, actually the odds are much worse than that. And I totally understand that and am okay with it.. but I would really at least like to try. Here's the thing though I'm really not understanding as far as tickets and badges, registration pre-registration, rooms? Even though you did an awesome job explaining the ins-and-outs of the ticket or badge buying process, I was wondering if by chance you or you knew of a video that breaks it down for someone who is totally totally clueless when it comes to Comic-Con, the lingo and the understanding of how the ticket and buy badge systems work... kind of just broken down and like I said maybe an explanation of the lingo or certain things that maybe someone who doesn't know much about it would need to know again thank you so much for your time and this video. Ashley R.P that’s really cool thing to do for a gift! I’ll admit that the whole process is daunting, and I don’t know a video off the top of my head to breaks it down, but maybe thsi will help: 1) you won’t be able to get tickets for 2019 but you may be able to get tickets for 2020. 2) First make an account on the official SDCC website for all participants. Wait for the open registration email. 3) then when you get that registration email, you have to go to the login website during the registration day. Each person has the ability to get up to 3 tickets including themselves, IF (big if) they get in. From there you’ll have the option for Wednesday - Sunday. 4) as for hotels, there’s another email you’d need to wait IF you get a ticket. This has info for the hotel lottery where you can enter to get hotel options. That in itself is tough. You’re other option is ... 5) AIR BNB! But there has been a crackdown on Air BNB locations in San Diego, which limits the availability. That being said, plan to choose an air bnb near a train station or the shuttle stops. The Shuttle stops are also available to look up ahead of time, and they haven’t changed in 6 years. 6) still can’t find an AIR BNB? You can still find a hotel, but just make sure to find one near the public routes of transportation Hope that helps clear things up a bit! Natalie A unfortunately there’s no workaround. You’ll have to wait for SDCC2021 at this point. SDCC registration is not the most logical way of rationing tickets, but because there are over 100,000 people applying for tickets, they require anyone who is interested to register before opened registration announcements. My advice? Make one now so you’ll at least be able to apply next year. But when you login, see if your account says “eligible for open registration.” If it does, contact SDCC support to get a code. But If it says ineligible, there’s no way to get tickets for 2020. Good luck, thanks for watching!

Can you get a refund? Yes you can. Further into giving an answer, there's specific day where people can get refunds, but you may have to email SDCC customer service to get a confirmed answer. In regards to the scenario you gave - if one of you got in and bought tickets, those other two people can either stay on and get more tickets for others. Their option to buy their own ticket will be greyed out.
