understatement but it would be nice if the subway actually went directly to LaGuardia or Idlewild. Lugging luggage on a bus is not ideal especially if there are no accommodations for it.
@TheOldSalt Жыл бұрын
This is actually relatively easy compared to other cities. I’m from Boston, and if we want to get from Downtown to Logan Airport we have to board a train then a bus, or sometimes 2 different buses. As far as I know NO cities have stops right at airports, like under the terminals.
@metropod Жыл бұрын
@@TheOldSalt… most major cities in the US and Canada with rail transit have a direct route to one or more of their airports where the trains stop directly at at-least one of the terminals. The difference with the MTA is that the rail lines pre-date the airports
@TheOldSalt Жыл бұрын
@@metropod MBTA doesn’t do that. Their trains stop at least half a mile away from the Airport. You have to switch from a train to a bus to get to any of the terminals

I agree with you but the way LGA is set up there mad buildings and highways in the way, building over the highway is out of the question and NIMBYS have shot the idea down of a LRT or Monairal to LGA so we're stuck with the Q70 for the foreseeable future

I know this comment might just be ignored, but I suggest you build a shuttle service or an air train from Jackson Blvd to LGA, that way commuters would have access to the MNRR LIRR and 20 other lines just by taking the (7). Obviously this would greatly boost ridership but I just wanted to add in that fact.
@theaviator_7678 Жыл бұрын
Of course it will be ignored, an entire city isn't gonna make an entire new transit line that costs thousands or even millions of dollars because of one youtube comment.

The money spent for that will be better served extending the N & W to LaGuardia. On top of that, the 7 Train is PACKED. The last thing the 7 needs will be lots of people on that train with big luggage blocking space where people could be. The trains on the N & W are bigger and would be so much better for something like this.
