I was there in 1987 before there was graffiti. If you follow the water upsteam you will find deep stone pools of perfectly smooth hollowed-out rocks filled with golden salamanders.

Not buttermilk falls. and not nevelle falls. its called "The North Gully" or north gully falls the south gully is on the other side up 52. they both flow from lake maratanza Buttermilk and nevelle falls are both different locations and often confused with this spot.

It was a reservoir at one time in the early 1900 until the dam failed.
