So what I’ve learned with this glitch- 1. If you do this and get a skin type item, do not learn it before copying the save data back from the USB to the PS4 first. 2. If you gain a couple of levels and want to do the glitch again, just be safe and recopy the save data from PS4 to the USB 3. It’s a great glitch! For those on PC wondering how you can do this I have been trying ways myself but as of this moment it can only be done with a partner. You have to have your partner carry your guns from the chest but the save file is located here: "C:\Users\(yourusername)\Documents\My Games\Borderlands 3\Saved\SaveGames\cca30b8219c84ba2a78346195cf7bc3a" I'm not sure if it will be the same for other people but I have two saves in this file. One says "profile" and the other says "2" (I'm assuming because this was my second character) but the file you want to back up and copy is the profile save. That one is tied to your keys and user settings.

This isn’t true. Just make sure you put items in the bank when you haven’t spent any keys after reloading your profile. Save and quit. Make another backup of your profile. Then load back into game and start spending keys again. Any time you want to store items don’t spend any keys, store your items and make another backup to load from. You only need to keep the latest backup to load from. Items are safe in bank and you have all your keys. This also applies to buying upgrades. Don't spend any keys on runs you want to buy an upgrade. I’ve been doing it all this evening. Enjoy.

Any items that you put into the ships storage chest prior to saving to USB will remain and continue to load each time you reload the file.(saves gold keys and storage chest, but not current character inventory) Any items added to your chest prior to logging out and reloading the file, will be lost. I used one key to obtain high value items, saved them to my storage chest, then used this method to save my reload file. Now every time I load my settings file, I can resell those items and I still have four keys left. You can dupe something by: 1. Place item(s) into your storage 2. Logout and close the game 3. Save settings file 4. Reload game 5. Pull the item(s) from storage, sell and use keys. (any items that you want to keep need to stay in your characters inventory) 6. Logout and close the game 7. Reload the settings file 8. Repeat from Step 4 until you max cash or have the items that you desire.

If that's the case, your bank is stored on the settings file, not the character save. You can use this to dupe weapons! ie, put in bank, save. pull out of bank, reload save, repeat.

This could also be an excellent way to spend E-rid at Earl on character outfit items and the like, since you could do this in a parallel way (save the character info, instead of the game settings) buy the items (since the items save to your game settings, aka the same place your keys are saved) and such? since getting an unlock for an outfit from lets say a head piece DROP for your siren, while on beastmaster, will unlock the oufit for any and all siren characters you create. you could potentially save up enough E-rid to buy all the items in the shop, do this step by step and buy out earl. you could also do this to farm the gun shop, if you use a 2nd controllers character to trade off the gun to(or on pc, a friend)

Got the keys back but it doesn't work for bank items. Anything put into bank between saves gets lost. Money transfers over, and keys refresh. Any items in inventory transfer over. It means that between exploiting, if you put anything in your bank. Resave to.your external USB or you will lose the bank items, that's all, so save to usb - use keys ( keep useful ones in inventory) - quit and transfer save as per video, transfer any items to bank - quit again - replace external USB save - restart exploit. Basically if you transfer to bank without replacing the usb copy it will revert back to whatever was in the bank when you made the save. Hope that makes sense.

On a different note if you take any items out of your bank and keep them in your inventory, when you transfer the save back from the usb, they will be both in the bank and hand at same time. Bit of extra cash

You can just copy the data over for 5 keys again any time you want. If new key codes come out, claim them then save a new backup on your usb drive. There is literally no reason not to use it unless you just dont want to exploit.

Not that aware of, though there's an "Eridium loot cave" of sorts on Eden-6 where one can keep quit/reloading just outside of cave to crush more crystals, rinse repeat ^^

Theres a much easier way. Redeem your codes online then wait for them to reach your mailbox. Once they have turn off your internet collect the keys return to main menu (not title menu) then return back to your game & 8 keys will still be in your mailbox. Meanwhile you will have the previous 8 in your inventory. Rinse and repeat🤓 PS4 User, but should work on other consoles

Well I believe the best way would be to combine the 2 methods. Since your method gives +8 keys and this method resets your key count you could get like 80 keys through your method and then reset the counter with the video method so you don’t have to do your method 10 times again.

chris vannatter When you redeem the Golden Key codes they get sent to your mail (In Game) If you haven’t taken them out of the mail to put into your inventory yet what you do is load into your game, then turn off your internet after that you proceed to put the keys into your inventory from the mail (However many keys redeemed) Once you’ve put them into your inventory proceed to quit to the main menu (Not Title Screen) then once you’re there, click continue to go back to your game. you will have the keys you just collected before quiting & also a duplicate still in the mail. Then you would just repeat

So hypothetically im lvl 10 and I decide to use this method to gain 5 new guns, after that I continue the story and lvl up. Now I'm lvl 20. Use the keys. Now if I Copy the same USB data I've used when I was lvl 10 to regain the keys, do I go back to the same story part when I was lvl 10? It would be a pain to replay the same part again for a bug..

No, you keep all character progress. However it will reset the loot u put in your storage as well as any eridium you have obtained. My advice would be to reload the backup save IMMEDIATELY after using the 5 keys that way you get your keys back and then play the game as normal. Next time you do the method make an updated backup on your USB so you get to keep all eridium and if you have stored weapons in your locker you keep them too.

Yes I know. I copy only user settings from ps4 to USB. I load up my game. Use my keys. Save and close game. Copy user settings from USB back to PS4. Load up game and any legendaries ive gotten are gone. I found a work around it's just more time consuming now. 🤷‍♂️

last_of_us_ I’ve responded to two other people in this thread with directions on how to do it correctly, in your case buy upgrades on the same run you want to store items without spending keys that run, save and quit, create new backup to load from. Do this each time you want to buy upgrades and store items.

Somehow for the PC version I glitched through their website and for the one 3 golden key code it's been giving me duplicates of the same code for a total of 18 keys. Every time I log in the same code redemption is still available each time I exit to desktop and log back in. So far I've exited the game, rejoined, redeemed the codes, repeat for a total of 400 something keys as I type this Edit: I am now at 1,000 keys

To clarify, are you doing this through your browser ( I'm assuming so), and do you have the game open while you type in the code?

@@1unknown1er I had the game open while I typed the code in the browser on an alternate monitor if I remember right. I didn't submit the SHIFT code more than once, the code "redeems" itself multiple times each time I log into the game. I tested it to see if it would work simply exiting to the main menu but I have to exit completely to the desktop. It also works off and on with a couple other of the main story mission guns that are sent to you in the inbox.

Lol not how borderlands works. Unless you're max level those guns get outdated within a few levels. Golden keys are really just there to help you progress. Plus they don't give you access to every gun

-It's impossible for people in Borderlands 3 to be banned. The game doesn't use an always-online centralized server system like Destiny 2, Anthem, Warframe, or Diablo 3 do. -Golden keys are free. Gearbox just gives codes for them out for free in tweets and other social media posts, which is the only way to obtain them. It doesn't cost them money.

When you sold the guns from the golden key chest you went from 15k money to 25k, But when you reloaded your game setting data you went back to 15k. So this glitch is not stackable and your more or less just reusing keys from a shift key code that you entered
