Hmmm... You can get all quicksilver items for free already so having lots of it is not necessary. You get out of your ship, go buy whatever you want in quicksilver store, get out of store and reload. All you bought will still be unlocked and your quicksilver will be all back. You just need enough quicksilver to get started. I had 4200 and by the time i was done unlocking all i wanted, I still had 4200. Test it with a cheap item first if you want but it works.

Yeah I intend to show off that method soon as well, but this was more so for anyone needing the quicksilver to spam the void eggs or fireworks since that method only works for the one time purchase items.

@@Colmatt yes, void eggs need you to have quicksilver to buy them so this method you show here would be very good for getting many eggs and mine would not work.

@@tektauron It has been for at least the past 2-3 updates, i hadnt tried it before then but its been in for a little while. At this point i dont think hello games cares how we get our quicksilver lol

All you need is one void egg then you duplicate it all you want by using the refiners

Great video. Another method I've used with similar effect that perhaps is a bit less of an exploit is predicated on having multiple games saves. As most people have likely learned, the Quicksilver purchases you make are added to your account, and are redeemable from any game save. So what I've learned to do is complete the weekend missions on several different game saves and then purchase unique items with those individual game saves with the Quicksilver stashes I've built up. As long as you are far enough into the game on each game save and can complete the mission you can either purchase Quicksilver items right then or save up each week for a larger purchase. It's almost like coming to work, doing a small task, make $1200. Walk out the door, put on a different hat. Walk back through the door at work, complete the same task and make the same $1200. It might take longer but it'll likely never be patched out.

This is the method I'm using. I have 7 or 8 games saved, and just run through them one by one. It helps that once you know what you need to do, you can prep ahead of time. It really helps when your character is still weak and it dumps you on an extreme planet and it REALLY helps to make those Permadeath saves a little safer. Thanks for the video. Worked a treat, I don't always comment on videos but this was super helpful!! Quick couple notes from my runs: its not always obvious it worked, the Nexus gets confused and lists different mission visuals. Just accept the new one, fly out of the anomaly and it'll trigger the same mission again. AI mission was SUPER easy, literally land on the planet with a stack and it will go right into dropping off the deposit. If you stay sub-orbital the pirates don't appear to trigger so you can just fly to a nearby trade hub, keep your anomaly summon as close to the planet as possible and you can get runs down to under 3 mins. If you don't have your own Indium, there were TONS of free farms available on the planet to get a stack or two. Hope that helps! Cheers!

Nobody will "ruin" game for themselves just by unlocking anything right away. The only thing they would "ruin" is a tedious and unfun loop of legit quicksilver farming. I calculated some time ago, that to unlock everything that was there like 3 months ago, you would need to play the game every day for a little over a year, and complete all the dailies and weekend missions. And over the 3-ish months that passed since then, quite some new items were introduced, which makes that even more of a ridicule. The only things I dislike about NMS are timegated missions as only source of some currency/material. They make you run the game every day just to do several repetitive "duties" - do a quicksilver daily, resend your frigates, collect your crops - and log off immediately. It's not "having fun in game". It's just dumb. Having a multi-hour session of meaty and dense grind can be fun and meditative, but with those timegates they get spred out over the time, essentially netting little to no satisfaction/amusement

Yeah I guess I hadn’t really thought of it that way, I mainly said that because I’ve heard some people complain when they have nothing left to grind for they get bored and don’t wanna play anymore. But I definitely agree on the timegated content, settlements and freighters can be some of the best content in the game but it’s often ruined by having to wait upwards of 20 hours sometimes.

I actually agree, timegates are just bad/lazy game design. If players are bored and need something to do, it's up to the devs to design something engaging. It's not a perfect solution but I think a better idea would be to make quicksilver quests unlimited but lower the reward to 100. I'd also add a special tier of upgrades that require materials that have to be farmed from a specific type of extreme hazard planet, like some kind of super gamma root for example.

@@derekdrake8706 that’s actually a really great idea. I think at some point they will tweak it in the future because they have stayed the same for long that i believe it’s time for a refresh. If nothing else at least add more ways to consistently get quicksilver

@@Colmatt PS - I just tried this method of getting quicksilver and it works lol thank you. Unfortunately the quest is "Rescue Stranded Lifeform" which takes a while. Funny story, I'm walking up to the decryption computer and people have dumped a ton of message balls around it. There's also a base with a decoration near all the messages that says "Commence Sphereification" and that made me laugh, it was so appropriate. I noticed the message balls seem to confuse the heck out of the sentinals lol I shoot them and they scan the balls looking for me, but there's too many. Too many balls.

For me its the other way around, i just tried this earlier and when i landed on the anomaly, i went to cash in, paused right after, checked i got the quicksilver which i did and reloaded, i lost the quicksilver but i kept the mission so i could do it again

Interesting video. Honestly, wish this game was more balanced so people wouldn't rely on these cheat ways to earn for a living. But I suppose, if you're impatient this works.. Don't get me wrong, I'm not being hateful here. Just hard of understanding how 99.9% of people want a shortcut. Liked for the video for solid straight to the point rather than an hour long explaining step by step.

Same here, if they added more ways to get quicksilver then i believe people wouldn't have to resort to exploits in order to get the items they want. I get they want to stretch out the content but it can take literally a week just to get enough quicksilver for a void egg, not to mention all the other items. Also Thanks for Watching!
