You'd need to submit press to prove notability, from publications along the lines of Time, Forbes, CNN, Rolling Stone etc. If you don't have any ID then I'm not sure that it'll work for you, unfortunately, that seems non-negotiable. - C

So essentially you need to prove that what you do is significant enough to warrant verification. A good comparison is a Wikipedia page. Hi Kim, you're welcome! A Spotify link wouldn't really get you closer to verification as they need to prove notability, and they do that via major press links, so I'd suggest to focus on that. - C

Hi! So yes you need photo ID, a driver's license or passport would suffice. As long as you have 5 links to major, globally recognized press pieces about you in publications like Forbes, CNN, Time etc, then you should be good to go :) - C

Wow thanks for the swift reply. Yes I never really thought about it. But I recently had some accounts pop up that weren't me and then I went through a kind of pr nightmare where someone said I'd passed on (Which obviously wasn't true lol) But I'm going to try your advice and I didn't realize I actually did have a couple of articles in major canadian news papers and local papers and was in a couple of documentaries I'll let you guys know if it worked. I realize I probably should care if someones spreading lies. Truthfully most artists just wanna do their thing not always want to promote themselves. Update it took 3 days I got 2 no's and tried one more time and this morning I saw the blue check mark but not so sure why the first 2 times. I changed up my id and well maybe it was also that I have some meta products on my brand. But I'm amazed. OK. Looks like it’s pretty much the same process as Facebook. However, we have been unable to get Facebook to verify our account. We have over 150,000 fans on our trademarked clothing brand. They used to only ask for articles of incorporation which we have always provided and they always said that they were unable to verify. We also provided a copy of our trademark that is on file with US PTO. I saw recently that they also asked for links and such so we provided those as well. We have found multiple pages on Facebook pretending to be us and using our profile photo. So it is imperative that we get a verified account with this number of fans that we have. Any idea what else we could do here? We have followed all of the steps and have a pretty substantial following on Facebook already. Not sure why they keep saying that they cannot verify our identity after providing the articles of incorporation and the trademark.

So just like Instagram, Facebook requires the brand to be notable and uses things like a Wikipedia page and multiple organic major press pieces for proof. If there's an open field where you can provide links to fake accounts pretending to be you, that could be helpful to get this across the line. - C
