I’m low porosity as well and I’ve been steaming my products in whenever I do add them because the steam helps open my hair up to absorb into my scalp. Good video bro ✊🏾

Hey @JLew, this video could be confusing to some viewers to understand, can you make a color chart, of what to follow for certain types of hair? For example. If you have Low Porosity hair, u should use a penetrating oil, with a sealant as a butter. This is so much important information given and i feel like it could still be hard to still understand how to know your hair. So now that we have the chart, and we go, “Okay, lets search in JLew videos on how to find Porosity, or Different types of Oils to use for your porosity.” Thanks JLew for the info!

Interesting! What happens when mixing moisturizing and penetrating oils together? I.e. mixing rice bran and coconut oil or another mix of multiple oils? Will the moisturizing oils have deeper penetration, less penetration, or about the same?

Justin time I need your help I been trying to get waves for almost a year now ( I have straight hair) I spent a lot of money on products and brushes every time I try to get waves I end up getting flaks all the time and I start over and keep getting flakes this week when I tried again I was doing good I had no flakes but as soon as I washed my hair and after it dried I put curl enhancing-smoothie and started brushing I saw flakes what should I do about this?

Use shampoo once or twice a month and instead washing your hair with shampoo all the time just wash it with the conditioner and brush it in and let it sit than rinse it out and at the same time brush it as you rinse it out than Pat it dry and what I use is "as I am" double butter moisturizer than I put some Jamaica black castor oil with tea tree in it than I brush for 15 minutes than I put a silky durag on, and everything you use shampoo it's gonna strip all the natural oils out your hair that's why I say use once or twice a month or if your hair gets real dirty other than that just wash with the conditioner

I been using the Jamaican Mango lime Coconut oil the next day after I wash my hair. Now is that a moisture or sealant oil? I'm thinking moisture since it also says it can be used on the body.

I did. Some of what you say isn’t true. “Doing what works for you”, isn’t “caveman knowledge. In fact it’s true. What works for low porosity hair, won’t work with high porosity hair. It’s really individual and not a generalisation.
