How to Get Your Dog Used to Dog Boots

Thank you for sharing this! I knew that I needed to give training sessions that were short, but I wasn’t really sure what to do to get my dog used to shoes. I got him some crocs because we live in the Pacific Northwest where it’s very rainy and the summers have been hot lately, so the pavement has been a concern so I wanted something to protect his paws more and keep them cleaner since he’s a doodle!

i just moved to a hot climate with my dog - the pavement is getting hot and wanted to protect his paws. He is very skittish and i thought i'd have little chance of him walking normal with boots on - i watched this video and just got done with the front paws for 5 minutes walking him inside while giving him treats - within that 5 minutes - it was like he forgot they were on. The distractions and only putting them on the front paws first was the ticket.

@@mcsdog thank you again - today i put the boots on the back paws then i put them on all 4's and was able to do a 2 mile walk with him in his boots - it was so great not having to worry about burnt paws - thanks again!

I'm going to try this but I have to wait to order booties and liners for my female GSD she's 5 years old and four years ago I tried to put booties on her but she would take them off after not moving, tried treats, toys but she wanted them off so I gave them away. The Texas heat is brutal and we walk at night and early morning but she got a splinter week ago and I want her to be safe ❤ thanks for video
