Hello Victoria, I’m a big fan of your Chanel, and I was scrolling through videos of how to get your hamster to chew and I clicked on yours. The flour and water one really worked. My chinese dwarf (Atticus) isn't into any of the wood chews, but he went straight for a Whimsey dog treat! I'll have to try some of these tricks for the other wood chews, he's such a picky boy. >_< Thank you for putting these videos out, everyone is commenting on what a good mom I am when I feel like I'm just following the basics. Friends!! Ecotrition cheese chews! It's one of the only chews any of my small animals have ever used!!! Sometimes they are as low as $0.98 on Amazon. I wait for the sale and then buy it in bulk. Also Kaytee apple sticks my mice and hamsters appreciated. Hope this helps!

I haven't had a hamster in many years but man do I wish videos like this existed back then. It didn't matter what kind of chew toy I gave them, they always preferred the metal bars of the cage itself (another reason to get an aquarium instead). Not only is that bad for them, it makes sleeping in the same room as your hamster downright impossible.

You are an absolute life saver!! I thought I was out going to have a bit of a hard time when PB didn’t work on his current chews. Putting them in his seed mix worked!! I put one in, it took him 5 minutes and he stole it into his hide😂 We will keep adding to our toy and chew stash but this has got us well on the way, thank you!!

You are amazing, Victoria, seriously! You have answers to everything haha! When I first bought my hamster a month ago, the pet store lady told me hamsters needed to chew on calcium stones so I bought him one. The first week, he would chew it every night, but after that, he seemed to lose all interest in it. And now I find out he doesn't even need calcium, oh gosh! I'm going to the pet store tomorrow to see if I can find other chews. I'll keep the calcium one and try to give it to him again in a few weeks. Thank you so much for your videos, they're great!

You can also buy the wooden chew toy with the ball in the middle, and put your hamster's pellets in there. I only put two pellets in there to make sure that the pellets can still move around a little. I also place my hamster's Whimzee chew in there once it's small enough to squeeze inside. Ever since I've started doing that with my hamster, she went from a non-chewer to a big-chewer trying to get her food/treats out 😀

Very cutie syrian hamsters you had in there I adopted mine today from petsmart... She was free some customer got her for a kid Kid open box guess what happend next she got loose in a car she was stuck between it they returned her back because they didn't know what to do with her I know kid didn't mean to hurt hamster possibly he or she want to looked at her or touched her...Parents should know better to watched their kid doing....When I heard her story I end up up bring her home Petsmart employees was happy for her They had her for 1 month to heal her injury first then she was put for adoption for 2 weeks she told other customers who looking for hamsters getting it nobody wanted her for some reason... Free hamsters put for adoptions that don't mean there is something wrong with pet I wish they know about that... They don't know her ages well.... I'm guessing she's possibly 7 months 14 days old her color is long haired Umbros golden syrian hamster She's shy but not biter they told me she's will take while to warm up to me I named her Lola She's tried to settle on her new home right now...

I feel so grateful now because my hamster is a great chewer, he goes through his chews in VERY short periods of time, he isnt picky about the material he’s chewing, and he never chews plastic which is good because his wheel and hide are plastic . He’s a bit spoiled, but that’s mainly my fault 🙈

Use different types of wood both green and dried, I use apple, Hazel and willow, he changes from one to the other, and it's free if you have access to the trees.

My hamster loves the whimzee chews that I provide for her, but I can't have those in her tank 24/7 because they are edible, so I only give them about once a month. My hamster is a big chewer, she loves to chew on everything EXCEPT whatever is meant to be chewed on. she chews on her wheel, and her hideouts, but wont chew the wooden chews that I provide. I tried the peanut butter idea and now she ADORES her chews and she doesn't chew on her wheel or hideouts anymore! Thanks for this idea!

For anyone who lives in the uk, try the pets at home hamster chews that have parsley stuck to the top of them. (I can’t remember the exact name of them, sorry bout that) but they’re like little circular peices of wood and they have parsley stoock to the top and u get 2 in a pack. My hamsters really like to chew on these and they’re pretty hard and cheap!

My hamster had 3 chews. NOTHING. Then i got this carrot shaped one, it looked a little diffrent like a whimsee chew. She started chewing it. I am very happy for her. Although her bach teeth are overgrowing but she is chewing a chew toy( i will get the same one but apple shape). I have 2 mineral chews anf one chew toy.
