I personally recommend the critical tag upgrade because just spamming your uncharged shot can tag multiple people. This is best used used with super payload to make your missiles kill better.

As an 80s main, i strongly reccomend going with Bow Master, Leg Day and that one 1 point upgrade that lets you keep tags upon death, i got to Grandmaster 5 that way and it was a walk in the park

Yeah but bowmaster requires skill and aim which is why I run critical tag and super payload so can't missile gets given steroids and I don't have to aim

Upgrades vary on playstyle. For example I use Super Payload, Leg Day and Targeting Arrows since It fits my playstyle. I like shooting them thrice with weak shots only to vanquish them with max. 200 damage missles

Here's a tip don't use rocket ride on a chomper cause he can just use burrow and camp under you if this happens use dynamite dodge and hope the chomper doesnt have the well fed upgrade

@@loganshark667 Yeah, he's very bad agaisnt competent citrons, and even if you try the rocket ride the citron can tank it and then stun you with EMPeach or run away and wait for it end then stun you with EMPeach, so if you're gonna fight a citron, make sure you have some backup help, like a soldier behind the citron constantly doing damage, so the citron has to choose between you or the soldier, either way he will have to run away or die.

I love 80s unique tag mechanic. Although BFN doesn’t even explain the tag system so thats really dumb and might be confusing for new players.

It does tell you that enemies with 3 tags will be hit even behind cover so there’s that.

I used to main 80s for the single reason that the tags let you see enemies through walls. That ended when a glitch plagued my system making it so that for some reason whenever I try to use can’t miss-ile, it does the casting animation but no rockets are fired… doing nothing but remove the tags from my targets and make a sitting duck for the next 2 seconds.

As an 80s main, I actually use critical tag and super payload. That way when dealing with a group of enemies whose heads make up 80% of their hit box i just flick them with minimal damage to tag them quickly and use cant missile to finish them off before they even know what's going on, basically a flick and sting tactic. In my prime I get at least 36 kills which I think is impressive in an 8v8 switch match. So 80s action hero best hero, would grandmaster again

You like one shotting acorns and nightcaps? Captain deadbeard's sniper charge shot is too slow? Do you want to one shot an entire 4 acorn Oak? 80's action hero is for you! (Im a Console 80's hero main by the way, i can give some tips on how to git gud at console 80's hero) First console tip: always zoom your shots before firing, the crosshair will autoaim the nearest plant to it, very good for charged shots. Second console tip: try bunny hopping when you're charging, you lose alot of speed while charging, and any plant that knows your location will exploit that, maybe a cactus. Third console tip: ALWAYS, and i MEAN it, ALWAYS use The huntsman upgrade, its the best choice you can have for Console 80's hero, seriously, that part of my comment about killing a 4 acorn oak isnt a joke, you just need The huntsman upgrade, and you're SET. And one more thing, chomper burrow cancelling as 80's hero, just stand somewhere with a closed ceilling, like the carousel in giddy park, then activate rocket ride while the chomper is close, the rockets will instakill the chomper and if its fast enough, you get to live!

Extra tip for console players: As aim assist can help in a lot of situations where the target is moving fast, try aiming just before firing a fully charged shot as the game will subsequentially give you free kills from across the map and even up close by moving your crosshair straight on top of their face. This can make Bow Master even more busted.
