Chomp thing is underated imo. You just use burrow and can recover like 60 or so health without taking any damage.

Chomp Thing is definitely really good in garden warfare 2, not OP like Yeti and Twilight, but is still one of the better chompers when played well and carefully! Personally I like go all in on the regeneration upgrades and the damage upgrade instead of running the health upgrade, as cutting the delay of the regen even further while regenning really fast is incredibly useful!

Whilst I underestimated how decent chomp thing is. Some toxic variants can kinda throw his gimmick for a loop. But this is if and only if you don’t have a vamp weed. Also chomp thing has almost of thresholds to be comboed. The main one being is you die to imp punt. But also are two shotted by stock scientist. Which is a big issue. Of course marine is always good for chompers. Well every scientist is a double edged sword for them as you do a shit ton but are extremely fragile to there bites. So it’s mainly who has what ability fight. But if you want a “counter” to chomp thing. Just pick welder or mechanic. They delete him to fast for him to regen. And can out range him if the going gets tough. Also welder has some nifty little fire damage that could squeak out a kill before his regen gets to start. Also chomp thing is surprisingly quiet. So do with that what you will.

For a 1 on 1 situation, chomp thing can start regen without interruption by hiding in burrow as long as his opponent can't kill him before the windup animation finishes.

That probably wouldn’t do much, since the delay between taking damage and health regeneration starting is only 1 second. Now if it’s 3 health regeneration (not delay) upgrades, that would make him hella busted
