My dog has had seizures since he was a year old, he’s 10 now. All you can really do when it happens is be there and calm them down. It only really happens when he’s stressed or alarmed. He has meds that help them go away but it will always be part of him. He has not had one in about a year and a half so🤗🎉

My dog just passed. I didn’t even think to do CPR only because he was old (shitzu- 13 yrs) had a cough that the vet said was normal for his age and breed. Anyways he laid down and slept a-lot (yet was very playful) and when i noticed him, i was actually leaving to the store. I even thought “ should I take him for a ride...nah...”. I came home and he didn’t greet me as usual. He was still in his same spot. Just thought he must be sleeping. It was 15 min later when I thought somethings not right. And thats when I called his name, put my hand on his chest and felt no heartbeat. My baby was gone. But you know what? It was his time. He lived one heck of a great life.....and was loved so very much. Was able to father a liter of puppies.... so he lived....

This is amazing! My dog had a seizure and I didn't know what to do. I called the vet and they said "he's fine" cuz he never had one before. They never even did tests. He's my service dog actually cuz I have a seizure disorder and they still wouldn't do tests. Thank God he hasn't had one since.

My dog got parvo and was on his last few hours after me trying frantically to give him everything possible to save him. I was making him some distilled water and getting some medicine to help him but as I was coming back he took one last big breath and stuck his tongue out and died. I cried and ran to him trying to do cpr but failed and didn’t now how to perform it on a dog. I stood their and just stared and prayed on his lifeless body. It haunts me thinking about that image and feeling his cold lifeless body. Maybe and just maybe if I knew how to perform cpr on him he would have last. I regret a lot of stuff I have done that day know that I look back. I miss you courage.

This is great. Ive been wanting to find a class & learn pet CPR! But am I the only one who noticed that when practicing CPR, 3 of the trainees were actually leaned forward over the pet instead of standing with an erect spine & stance? Practice makes perfect though, right? Glad they care enough about their animals to learn.
