Your dog is so calm and not distracted at all, my beagle gets in a playful mood at times when I do this. You gotta get your dog in a relaxed state to do this and it definitely helps

Yes, Vada is a massage pro :) You can walk your dog or work on them when they are in a resting state to help ease them into massage if they have never experienced it before.

Maybe try like a different time in the day ? My mutt is cray cray too but a early morning boy so it hits 7-8pm and he slows down a lot and I can do this to him!

My dog is the queen of dog anxiety! She is always stressed and according to our vet there is nothing we can do about it other then some subtle meds that aren’t really working. I gave her this massage before bed and she immediately fell asleep even though her brother was barking and making lots of noise which is extremely uncommon for her. This massage works so well I’m not kidding!

This is very soothing. Thank you. Have you considered doing a video on watching our dogs for signs from them for the areas, pressure, or types of massage we're giving them for feedback from them? After all, they know better than we do what feels good and is helpful, and what isn't.

Very well presented. I am a lay person. Some years ago I bought a book on dog massage. I employed these techniques to relax dog in stressful transport situations, dogs transitioning, and of course my own dogs as part of their care. I hope that your video inspires dog owners to try some of these techniques. Another technique my dogs enjoy was grabbing a handful of skin on the top of their backs and rolling up and then down in the hands, and then moving down their back successively. As always, gauge your dog's comfort and response.

What are the odds of finding your video the first try, and you living where I live!! This video was a lot more relaxing and fun to do than I expected!! My dog and i suffer from anxiety and I suffer from bpd and adhd.. I was trying to but together a shelf I bought at Costco and it was missing 2 bottom "feet". Well I got pretty upset and am trying to find ways to help control my emotions more. My baby girl came down and sat next to me and She LOVES butt rubs. One thing led to another and I found myself looking up massaging my dog so "she can love me more" lol (yay bpd 😂 I even fear my dog will leave me or hate me 😂) ... anyways I just wanted to say thank you so much for posting this. The music and just your video was really relaxing and calming for me, and I think my girl enjoyed it too. Thanks for making my night better. I feel so much more chill ❤😊

@caninepainrelief34643 жыл бұрын
You can start massage at anytime. With a puppy you will want to just start off with really short sessions. Massage for puppies is a great way for them to learn to be touched and handled :)

I have PTSD and sometimes I have PTSD episodes where I can very scared and I scream and unfortunately my dog can be exposed to that when it happens and she gets very scared and will be very focused on trying to sooth me and I feel like she can get very very stressed, I would love to do something for her so she can feel more relieved and relaxed, would this routine be good for that? I assume I should be completely calm when doing this routine for her, is there a way to help her feel safer and relaxed in other ways in case I am still emotionally overloaded or stressed and can’t relax myself to the point I can give her a calming massage?
@Feralcottagecore2 жыл бұрын
This probably isn’t helpful, but when I get like that … well I get my biggest squishmallow to ground myself enough to remember my steps (find a color, shape, what can you touch, etc). Just something safe to grip and pull at. once you’re out of the full blown level enough to recognize her, maybe that’s when focusing on the massage Can help you both. Idk.

@caninepainrelief34643 жыл бұрын
It takes time to build up to massage, especially for puppies. Try starting with just a few minutes and work up to longer periods of massage. Use effluerage strokes first.

I did this for my 8 month pup and she curled up in a ball 😅 not sure what that means
@joebean3615 Жыл бұрын
If it was while you where doing it it could be either She wanted to change position She didn’t like you touching her (perhaps more around the tummy, you can work on that give her a treat the moment you touch her tummy) She didn’t want you to touch a certain part because there might be a sore or bruise (most likely around the tummy since that’s the part they cover when they curl up)
