I don‘t like either side of the „gender“ depate, but „his/her“ or „her/him“ feels more respectful than „it“ or „dog“. The latter make them feel more like an object than a sentient participant. Though, they called him Wattson at the beginning, so male pronouns might be more fitting.

I always message my dog. She loves it. But this video helped me to recognize that when you love your dog and she loves you, the message technique is something that comes about naturally. This woman is truly amazing. Some people are exactly where they need to be as far as career goes. My 7 year old lab is limping on his left leg when he gets down from the bed and I am a massage therapist and this woman has taught me how to do it properly and as non intimidating as possible. I have great trust with my dog however we're working on the grooming of the hair between the toes. She's absolutely amazing and I give this video 5 out of 5 stars and we'll watch all her videos as she seems to know everything from a to z as far as the dogs well-being. I think I trust this woman more than most of my vets!

Thanks so much! This is brilliant! My dog never really liked to be touched (guessing trauma from when she was a puppy, too cute for her own good and crowded, fondled and dropped several times by careless passerbys and equally careless friends and relatives---she's a foundling, a rescue from the streets of Kigali, Rwanda). I could see that she tolerated my touch because---well, I fed her since she was 2 weeks old---but she clearly tolerated it rather than enjoyed it. Whenever I tried to pet her, she would go get one of her toys and entice play as a deflection. Now she's old and arthritic so she just tolerates it. *But the trick with the back of the neck did it!* After a few sessions of working on her neck, she finally relaxed and allowed me to massage her everywhere without staying alert and giving me the side eye. 100% confirm the secret of massaging the jaw muscles too. That's the only kind of petting/massaging where she would let me dig in without reaching for her toys and changing it it into a game of fetch (and she's the kind of dog with a jaw strength that goes through a ham or cow bone in 15-20 minutes, so those muscles have a lot to dig into).

I wish she would let us trim her nails because we could bet she’s been hurt by techs before. She has to be sedated a bit but she still screams whenever they touch her feet. I’m at a loss for how I can help her. We always trimmed the nails on our previous dogs with no problem. Thank you again.

This has helped me & Ruby so much. We have this video saved and have watched it a hundred times. I follow along & she loves it. It’s a routine now. She recognizes you’re voice and knows what’s coming! She’s older now..12 years old and suffers from some type of back leg shake like you show while at there extent of ability. Oddly, that doesn’t seem to be what it means to her. She can go and go and go. I have a hard time keeping up with her. We live in Colorado and I try to get her out hiking, to her favorite water hole (creek), school or park daily. I do find I tend to skip 1 day on the weekend. I’m getting older too! Lol. Just curious if there would be another reason for this leg shaking ? She has had a mammogram tumor removed, another after that of a different type. Lost a nipple with the first surgery. But, has done great and eve fun N.
