Hi! Thanks so much everyone for watching and commenting!!!! Unfortunately there's just wayyyy too many questions at this point to get to all of them, would any of you be interested if I made a Q&A video where I address several of the common questions I keep seeing in the comments of both my videos???

Dana my name is Giovanni (from Italy) I work in a chemical laboratory specializated on paint and it's composition, the mistery of medium isn't made from star dust or other magic things but it's made of a solution of acrylic resin (linear organic molecule) that give to paint the grip on surface. When u ad water u destabilize the viscosity of paint but is doungerous for cover of the surface. For this problem Vallejo product medium that is resin multi-compatible with low viscosity that help the painting.
@Splatterpunk_OldNewYork5 жыл бұрын
Very true. I too only use water to clean my brushes using acrylic. I use acrylic dilutant like flow improver or varnish/medium to get liquid acrylic paint

Paused my video at 6:41 only to come back to Dana commanding me to "Take it all off". Real talk though, this video helped me learn about glazing and work up the courage to try it out myself. I've always hated painting due to imposter syndrome and feeling like my guys would never look as good as I wanted them to. Realizing that glazing isn't actually that hard helped me finally get to the point that I'm actually happy with how my guys look, and makes me actually excited to tackle my pile of shame stuff. Thanks Dana!

I can't tell you how many videos I've watched on glazing before this one that finally gave me an idea as to how to tackle a problem I've had for awhile. It never dawned on me to use glazing to paint the majority of a miniature when complimentary colors are placed close to one another. Most of the time, people just use it to smooth transitions made via layering with more opaque paints or to filter small areas where a wash doesn't really make sense. I think I can now paint Tyranid carapaces that have abrupt color changes where the shadows and highlights are still placed in the right spots despite being different hues (but in the same general area). I couldn't have done it without you and Vince Venturella showing how to glaze with Warcolours. The technique for the paint I actually have plus the use case presented in this video made that possible. Thank you.

That was AMAZING. A real eye opener for someone who’s getting back to miniatures and painting after 20+ years and whose last best resource was the Citadel painting guide. Yes, I live under a rock.

OMG I just had a revelation. Thank you so much for this video. I have been watching so much on glazing, trying to understand it a bit better, and I feel like this gave me the key that I was missing. Every other tutorial I have watched explains glazing as a technique to use on top of layering, to smoothen out the transitions. Watching you do this on a grayscale miniature made me finally understand what it is about and how to translate it to different situations. Thanks!

Thanks for this video Dana, I have watched many other videos on how to Glaze and came away still not understanding what I am meant to do, but this video has explained it so clearly and demonstrated it so well on the model that I finally understand what the fuss is about glazes. I think the problem with a lot of painters is they can paint great but are actually sadly lacking in how to explain it well. You on the other hand broke it down into such simple layman's terms that it just clicked. Keep this up as I am looking forward to learning more from you...
