Thanks for the video! Is using glaze medium with airbrush will also make the color transition smoother as well? Right now i’m using gloss varnish to make the paint more transparent for blending, so i wonder if i could get a better result with glaze medium.

It makes paint take longer to dry which is great for a smooth finish. So I generally thin with glaze medium and paint normally with it. A little bit goes very far for thinning.

Yes. It is awesome! Matte medium is the same, albeit less fluid, less flow. ☺️

It makes your paint bit weaker in color, but easier to handle and more fluid and gel like texture for big surfaces with smooth finish. Easier and smarter to add 2 thin layers, than just one fat one. There's few other mediums, that do almost the same tricks, also. Retarder time. and don't let me get to oil paints. 😆

you can do sthe same with normal mediums right? does not have to be glaze medium, it's just a matter of dilution right?

Yes. I actually prefer Thinner Medium, but these days I only use Cuttlefish Medium. 😊

Hi. I was looking at glazing some miniatures and usually use citadels paints but have found out they have discontinued their glaze paints. I was planning on painting silver and then glaze blue over the top too achieve a shiny metallic colour. (Alpha legion 40k colour scheme) Can I simply buy glaze medium, mix in my blue and then paint over the silver? Will this retain the metallic silver?

nice editing tricks 👌😜 very detaily explained, surface tension magic, Goodstuff. basicly this is physics, but english call it science, chemistry is close too. Paint makers, are chemist who undertands laws of physics too. not sure just hypothesis. might be something about cohesion and adhesion. lol

Might paint an painting, with some solid acrylics, one of thesedays.all this painting knowledge inspires me to paint more. Inks are more liquid pigments than normal was my fast sum up. Trys to make it simple to average mind and fails. 😆 🤣 cpu overload reset the system. 😆

Hi, welcome to the channel. Airbrush for the matte varnish. Matte varnish can be brushed, but will not be as matte ( will dry to be a bit satin ). Airbrushing around 5 to 7 inches away in thin coats always give me a matte-er finish. ☺️

I’m mostly having trouble when I make a glaze with the pigment. Like there is patches of pigment in parts of the fluid that I need to really think about where it dries. Especially on larger more flat surfaces. If it is near an edge I brush the pigments towards the edge so it’s like a shadow. It’s just big muscles, large bits of armour or clothes that I have trouble with that pigmented areas of the glaze.

@@DonSuratos Hahah! Ok well I am still very new to painting. So it’s just about learning. I’ve only painted a few minis and now I have more so I will have more chance to practice and experiment. I have a mixture of mostly citadel and Vallejo. And then all the Vallejo mediums. I may be thinning too much. I use a wet palette. At first I mixed Vallejo thinner and glaze medium plus a tiny bit of water that is on the brush. Edit: Oh I should ad that I do mix the paints very well. They have agitator balls. And I use a vortex mixer plus I shake by hand as well. They are well mixed. Again I think it is just inexperience with not getting the right consistency with the mediums.
