My addition for 15:27: those comparators essentially act like diodes when used like that, so the signal can travel forward (clockwise in this case) but not the other way. The signal will lose strength over distance but by using those comparators, the stronger side of it can't repower the weaker side so it's going to diminish over time.

mumbo has some great advice in this vid I'd like to add a couple names for the "watch people" part computational redstone: mattbatwings' logical redstone reloaded series is great door redstone: even for people not needing to make doors, myuen222's "compact redstone: a piston door making view" is a goated series for people wanting to do door redstone, you might want to watch lum3nd0's explanations and tutorials of his doors, his doors are very high level but I always learn a couple things from watching and rewatching lum3nd0's videos I don't know about that many redstone learning series so these are the only ones that come to mind, I hope this helps

I'd like more videos like this one! There's tons of videos that just show you a bunch of circuits and logic gates and then that's it, you have to memorize them without giving them context. But a video like this, with a little less brute-force information, followed by prompts to make you use the circuits you were shown, that is absolutely what I need!

A good tip as well, is to remember that Redstone works in a Binary system. With 0s and 1s. 0 Meaning Off. 1 Meaning On. Similar to computer binary system, the more 1s, the more things, different combinations, different outcomes. This literally means when working with Redstone, you are also working with basic electric engineering, and computing. So remember the simple things such as a AND gate; Which require X inputs to be 1s to give an output. Otherwise it won't send the signal. The XAND gate; Same as an AND gate, but reverse, it requires the X inputs to be 1s to stop an output, otherwise keeps on giving a signal. A OR gate, simple but very good to have, stands for Either Or Gate, it requires either one of the inputs to be active or off to give a signal. If both are on, it goes off, if both are off, it goes off, if one is on, and the other is off, it activates. This combined with a T-Flip Flop system, makes for a great press button on either side of a piston door, to open and close. Remember the simple stuff, leads into the more complex stuff.

Extremely helpful honestly, I just get started with Redstone mechanics. I always enjoyed making like small things with redstone, but now I finally want to understand how that really works. I already freestyled quite a bit, for example I made a continuous arrow-trap with a RS-NOR-Latch, redstone clock and and 2 paired falling edge monostable curcuits to slow down the output from the clock, which worked out nicely unexpected haha. Can't wait to get more into it, really nice video!
