How to Go to A Show or Festival By Yourself (& Why You Should!)

i go to the majority of festivals alone.. no accommodating to ur friends music tastes, waiting for each other to use bathrooms/fill water, spending 30 min just trying to meet up at a spot. u end up just wandering around and doing whatever u feel in the moment. you’d be surprised how many other ppl are there solo and willing to hang out. one of my favorite things is drinking w random ppl in the parking lot which is so chill

I went to my first ever festival (Lost Lands 2018) by myself cause none of my friends were into that kind of music. I met a group of people on Radiate that I camped with and hung out with the whole time and it was an instant feeling like we were all meant to be friends. Now we go to every festival together and they're my main rave squad! I was so nervous at first but it was sooooo worth it!

I was hesitant back in 2019 to whether or not I should go to this festival, my friend cancelled on me last minute. So did I go? Yes I did! Do I regret it? Hell no! I made it one of my best memory. Just gotta be sure to be safe, bring a camera, vlog the whole experience, send your location to your friend once every two hours. So I end up making a friend with this nice lad, and stayed on the sofa in his uni accommodation. It was fucking awesome experience!

I went to the "Heaven Belongs To You" tour by Brockhampton all by myself because I know of almost no one that likes the band or would be willing to spend the money I spent to go to it. I had the time of my life needless to say. The only thing that sucked with my experience was having to move my car out of a garage that closed at 10pm (when I say closed, I mean they would lock your car in that garage until the following morning, and I lived an hour away from the venue!) to another garage that closed at a later time during the intermission because Im an idiot and also new to the area and haven't figured out the parking system yet. The only judgement people probably had of me was how stupid I looked dancing, screaming, and singing along to their songs. I want to go to another Brockhampton concert because I had a blast at this one! If you're hesitant about going to a concert alone, just do it! But plan better than I did. 😬

​@@JaMadatMe This was 3 years ago lol if it was her first festival ever like she mentioned, I proposed finding someone to connect with to go with because not knowing what to expect at all and going alone especially as a female can be intimidating and scary. I wouldn't have wanted her to go alone and something bad happen, but she did it based off of my recommendation. At the time of my comment, that was my thought process and 3 years later I still stand by it given her scenario. Had she been a regular festival attendee then I wouldn't have recommended that and stuck with the tips in this video. Everyone scenario's different and I did my best for her situation at the time of her comment.

I just didn’t want her or anyone else to feel discouraged from going to a festival if it’s their first time going and they are going by themselves and may not be able to connect with people like you mentioned. I plan on going to a festival in my city next year for the first time by myself, and although I’ve never been, I believe I have a pretty good grasp of what to expect based off feedback I’ve heard from previous attendees online. I do like your idea of connecting with others via social media who will also be attending the festival, so hopefully I will have luck with that next year if I plan on going to the festival in my city👍🏽

Love the video but must say i dont agree. Friebds make the festival not the music. Been to fests alone and with friends and hands down always have more fun with friends. Also people are not so willing to take you in if youre alone. Most people will look at you like your imposing or your a “wook”... people def send off a dif vibe to unfamiliar faces. We dont want to admit but we are all weirded out when a “random” is trying to include themselves in our plans.. its fun to go to a fest alone because of the freedom but you ultimately will be missing the people you care for. Experiencing your favorite artist play your favorite song doesnt really feel as great when you dont have anyone to share the happiness with.
