He is using the Ottocast U2-X dongle. Setup is easy. Another Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto dongle which is slightly faster than Ottocast is the CarlinKit 4.0 but beware not to update Firmware as it will crash. Last is another decent unit is One Car Stereo AI Box Lite but for some reason the Steering Wheel skip track button may not work and when push Talk on Steering Wheel that Alexa or Siri won't work which means as long as you don't use the steering wheel buttons it works fine. Note: there is typically a .5 to 1.5 second delay using a dongle for wireless. None of them are perfect. Load up times vary from 10 to 25 seconds.

I want to use Google maps or Waze from my iphone 12 which is using apple play. But while Apple play is used for navigation, how can I play just FM stations on the regular radio of my 2023 Toyota Camry while running Google maps?

Click audio button on your infotainment then select fm. Once its on click the map button below the audio button to return back to navigation.

U2 one from ottocast. This is their model a year ago. They have new upgraded models now.

So the 2023 Camry does not have wireless Apple CarPlay? Not even the XSE V6 trim? Because someone who works at Toyota Of Manhattan told me that the 2023 Camrys have wireless CarPlay while 2022 and older only had wired Apple CarPlay.

It depends on the package that they have it on the unit. Not sure for the v6 xse. Infotainment is still the entune. Not the new system that comes with the 2023 tundra

No. These models do have the wired factory apple carplay and android auto. Meaning, it will only function with your phone connected via a usb cable.

Why do I need wifi in my car if the infosystem is already Bluetooth?

These wireless carplay dongles will connect with your iphone through the wifi direct connection though initially it will connect via bluetooth communication for setup. The wifi in the infotainsystem is not being used. Its just like a wireless projector from your iphone and the screen ia in your infotainment.
