Great information! Thank you! Which video shows how you color the inside of your gourds? Thank you so much!

Hi, Thank you for sharing your talents with us. What do you use to clean the outside of the gourds?
@JennAveryGourdArt10 ай бұрын
Just warm soapy water and a non scratchy scrubber! 🧽👍 I am writing this down as a to do for a future video!

i have a gourd that got moldy on top. So I cut that portion off. I want to dry it out. should I cover the exposed portion? What what? Maybe better to take the insides out and dry? Please help thank you
@JennAveryGourdArt2 ай бұрын
I am sorry to say but if you cut it before it is dry it will rot and not dry out☹️The mold is a natural part of the drying process as the moisture evaporates through the shell. Once the gourd is completely dry, the mold can be washed off and then cut open. In the future, leave your gourd outside so that the mold is not in your house and let nature take its course (can take up to a year!)

Your gourd art is awesome. How long have you been doing it? And also do you grow your own gourds?
@JennAveryGourdArt10 ай бұрын
Thank you! I have been gourding for close to 25 years now. Yes I do grow gourds, however I also have to purchase from local farmers because I cannot grow enough of what I need!

From Smucker's and Beiler's gourd farms, yes they know how to grow good gourds!
