Hi, Many thanks for this, it was very useful to see how you plan your routes and yes you are correct, Tintagel is heaving at this time of year as I have been working over that way, I'm now going to have a play with the council interactive mapping and see what's about near me. Some great tips. Thank you 👍 All the best for future adventures and also looking forward to more videos 😊🏁🏍️

Thanks. Yep I may check those tintagel byways sometime in the middle of winter maybe. But prefer to be as off the beaten track as possible most of the time.

I am loving this little tool, but I cannot figure out what to do when my route returns the same way that I came/started - GPX studio prompts me to either split or create loop, and neither allow me to draw on the same line all the way back to my start (home) to track all the proper distance, etc.... any ideas?

For some reason, when even having 'routing (follow roads) on, the traces I apply only go in a straight line, anyway to fix this?

Not sure. Not had that. What browser you using? Often chrome is more up to date than safari for example. So buttons maybe buggy on certain browsers.

Nice one matey, not often you see nice straight forward "howtos" with the tech side. Sadly my county council doesn't have an on-line map, although we're welcome to go in to their offices and check their paper maps :) On PC rather than Mac I've recently discovered QMapShack (free) which so far seems to have adequately replaced a load of disparate systems and tools relating to tracks / routes / gpx etc etc. Still learning it but hasn't let me down yet including local "out for a blast loops" and a week of tours and trips in Cornwall. I've got the TET loaded up, but not yet got me a light enough off roader to take that first step, so still all been on road stuff so far. We'll see ;)

I will check that one out. We have access to good ordnance survey maps in UK which shows byways, and everything else you may need to know for creating good routes. But can get expensive buying many for lots of areas. I keep OS maps on my phone too. (Good as don’t need cellular data, as stored on phone) But that does take up lots of space on phone hard drive if you travel lots and need many tiles. My main gripe with OsmAnd Maps is it seems to lose GPS position more often than other apps. And it’s not super intuitive.
