Sir, greetings from Thiruvananthapuram, India. I have watched a lot of grafting tutorials but yours is the most informative one i have ever come across. Dr Campbell talks about it with much enthusiasm and passion. After 5 'botched' attempts, i have finally succeeded in grafting . Thank you for taking the time to create this video. Thanks to you both.

@Joel Rodriguez basically you graph to get fruit almost imed. from a new tree. because the graph your taking is from a older tree that has fruited already..Generally speaking if your growing from seed, it might take 3 or 4 years before that tree will produce fruit...A graph might bring you a harvest in a year or when that tree is big enough to produce...at least thats what i think i know, correct me if need be

Thanks for a very instructive video. It’s fun to see how it’s done in the subtropics. I’ve done some grafting on apples in the Midwest with community college students in my Botany classes. We did cleft and tongue crafts mostly. The success rate varied but those whose grafts took, commented years later that their tree was still doing well. We grafted onto dwarfing apple stocks in late winter, then put them into cool storage to heal. The students took them home in the spring to plant.

Good Afternoon. I have 3 purchased grafted Mango trees which I have purchased from our local Plant Nursery. A Carrie, Coconut Cream & Peach Cobbler. Carrie is the Oldest at 4 years of age & she is almost 10ft tall & has fruited already, purchased her in a 3 gal container & recently the other 2 varieties. The Coconut Cream & Peach Cobbler are at an estimated 4ft tall. We live in Zone 9B SW Florida (Ft. Myers). I also recently have grown FROM SEED after eating an Ataulfo Mexican Mango & Hayden (or what I believe it to be being so Fushia & Yellow in skin color). These were 2 delicious, incredible Mangos that I just had to grow.. My Ataulfo is 3.5 ft tall & the Hayen is 8ft & strong. I am being told now that I should cut them down, because it would be "POT LUCK", to see what kind of fruit if any would grow from it. I was sadden to hear that, but I would like to graft on the Strong 8ft tree, that is cropped beautifully. I would love to create, a Cocktail Style of a tree with part of the Carrie, Coconut & possibly the Ataulfo, but that was from see. Can you please help guide me in the right direction as my trees are so beautiful the from seed. Not looking for an Ornamental tree, we would love Fruit from it....Thank You So Very Much, Maria.....

Questions? what type of climate is needed and how long does it take for your first fruit? And what is the procedure of grafting? I know it's cutting the stem and putting it into the other plant?
