It is really pleasant for eyes to look at those blooming plants of yours. I have not seen any proper video on growing orchids in pots in India, though I searched many channels of Indian gardeners. It would be real helpful if you share a video on it. In north east India orchids grows naturally, with almost zero maintenance. I don't know how to grow them in my balcony in South India... Really miss those amazing flowers.. 😇

The one thing I would note to everyone removing all the leaves from the rootstock, is to NOT water as much. Without leaves the soil will stay moist for a very long time. Watering it like normal will lead to root rot

Grafting needs practice and not all times we get successful result. Reasons could be many..one simple reason could be the Cambium layer isn't matching the right way. For example, just few months back, I did 7 grafting on a single plant. Out of them, 5 came out as successful..rest 2 failed :-(

@Born To Learn And Earn, Congrats! You got good result..since you said, you are able to see the new growths, remove the plastic bag. We can't set a FIX timeline as climate matters a lot and so I advised, you can do it once you are able to see the new growths on the scion, not on the root stock. Anyway, are you really sure you are able to spot new growths on the SCION? If Yes, that's great and continue caring for the plants, good luck :-)

I'm getting all my pots being inhabited by red ants every summer. Is there an organic option to get rid of ants colonies
@GardeningUpbeat
@GardeningUpbeat 3 жыл бұрын
@Tanushree Manish Sinha, Sorry to know...happens sometimes with my plants too. We can do 2 things - 1 teaspoon detergent powder in 1 liter water and then pour on the soil. 2nd method - Chemical and we can use any chemical pesticide such as Rogor or Roket. Dose - 1ml in 1 liter water and then pour on the soil. Plant won't get damaged in both cases. In nothing works, would need to change the soil. Also, please avoid keeping any fruit peels directly in the pot. Most of the times, ants attack the soil searching for the foods or we can see them if there are pest attacks on our plants, such as Mealybugs, Aphids etc. Hope that helps, thank you :-)
