Learn how to graph horizontal ellipse not centered at the origin. A horizontal ellipse is an ellipse which major axis is horizontal. To graph a horizontal ellipse, we first identify some of the properties of the ellipse including the major radius (a) and the minor radius (b) and the center. These properties enables us to graph the ellipse.

Hi sir McLogan, i watched some other videos involving ellipses from your channel, in the other video of yours, you said that the relation of a,b and c is a^2 =b^2 + c^2. And in this video that the relation of a,b and c is c^2 = a^2 - b^2. Which relation shoud i use? Hoping for your answer, Thank you sir McLogan.

Teacher you're wrong the foci should be in decimal form that should be 2.24 yet there is no square root of 5 but in decimal there is. Also the vertices should be V1=(2,4) V2=(2,-2) And the co vertices should be CV1=(4,1) CV2=(0,1). And that is not horizontal that is vertical. Just sayin and sharing my thoughts or opinion. But all over I always watch your videos and it helps me alot. Thank you.

Not sure what you are specifically speaking of but the sqrt{5} is the exact value of c. 2.24 is an approximation. Also a^2 is under the x so it is an ellipse with a horizontal major axis. I am going off the thumbnail unless that is wrong

@@brianmclogan A^2 is 9 and B^2 is 4 which one is bigger?. The bigger is always the major axis, when the major axis is under the X^2 this would always be vertical. Am I correct?
@krizz262
@krizz262 6 жыл бұрын
TECH FREEDOM A^9 is bigger. When the bigger value is at X-axis it would be horizontal, opposite of Y-axis which would be vertical.

Vertical not horizontal the major axis is 9 in which located below the X axis. So it should be vertical nt horizontal.
