i tried hdos out today after giving it time to simmer, it runs SO much more smooth than 117. its for sure my new primary client, until i start noticing major/annoying differences. it almost feels like a new game

I will advocate for hdos (my main client now) mostly because the framerate issues I have with 117hd are horrible. I have a 3080 and toa/prif/sepulchre all drop below 60 frames. I have a 144hz screen and the smoothness of hdos destroys runelite, making the game so much more enjoyable. Vanilla client is good too, but just looks worse than hdos to me. If you hate the graphics of hdos though, runelite 117 is a close second.

I have a 3080 and I agree 117hd is unoptimised but if you change the settings down a bit it will run a constant 60, it isn’t bad.

i much prefer the oldschool graphics, but like u said, the framerate/smoothness of hdos is too good to resist.

If you try the HDOS client now your hair shouldn't disappear anymore. They just updated the new hairstyles. Plus you can up your view distance in HDOS in the top left corner. Click on Util and you can increase your view distance from there or via in game settings in display. Plus graphics wise you can play around with the graphics settings in the in game settings in display. Also adding in that the area you are in on HDOS is not remastered yet, so it's not going to look as pretty. You can go to other areas like Varrock, Edgeville, Lumbridge, Ardougne and Al Kharid to look at the beautiful HD environments.

HDOS is actually similar to HD RS back in the days... I never loved 117, it's way too bloomy. Not shitting on it, it's simply not my cup of tea. RuneLite is still the best client to use for now (and until OSRS shuts down probably), I doubt it will ever be the number 2 client...

Yeah, HDOS is catching up fast on the plugin front! I'm pretty sure they are pulling a bunch of exact copies of runelite plugins, so they shouldn't be too far behind! When I was clicking on some of the HDOS plugins it would give a source being a runelite link. Pretty neat

hdos runs so much smoother. i really only use runelite because it has the CG map plugin.

HDOS is superior in graphics, Imagine turning off your details for better graphics.. On HDOS its all there without slugging your frame rates, its getting better and better as well, updated very often. 117 has had a lot more time id say for players to test it out and get things fixed, give hdos some time to catch up on the few bugs, and plugins and itll take over runelite.

Are you using Runelite? If you're using runelite select the stretched mode plugin

I am using runelite as well and I have the stretched mode plugin but if i turn it on it blows it up way too much. I was hoping to gradually make the interfaces larger without distorting the screen. Also even with stretched mode turned on I do not see the interface scaling in the settings like yours?@@PenSirOSRS

You have way more settings than my game. I'm on runelite and nearly every option you toggled on your client isn't on mine. I don't know what's wrong with mine or why you have things like view distance or even stuff like UI scaling options.

It’s the 117 HD plug-in from the hub, not GPU mode

Do you have the 117 HD plugin? That's the one with a lot of options. It's found in the plugin hub - if you go to the plugins it's the top right looks like a little plug :p

Kinda poor job put into your review of the HDOS client, if you went into graphic settings there are loads more to mess around with to make the game look better. There's also a skybox plugin which greatly improves the light in dark aread etc.
