Thanks for the tutorial, it worked a treat! I have some poorly shot footage (badly lit), and the camera is moving - I heard somewhere you can do a "traveling matte" to get rid of things you dont want to see, especially as the camera moves - but I cannot find a tutorial for this. Any ideas?

garbage matte is to pull out (mask) elements like boom mics or lights in the scene that shouldn't be there. he could've used it on the stool since the camera is locked down

I've just started working with Davinci Resolve 17.1.1. I watched your video and other similar ones that show how to remove the green screen in the edit function and am following each step. But every time I use the pick to try to select the color I want to key out on my green screen clip, nothing happens. Any ideas?
@flipnap21123 жыл бұрын
are you actually drawing a line and not just clicking in the area?
@startrekfanproductionsintl3 жыл бұрын
@@flipnap2112 yes drawing a line and nothing happens
@flipnap21123 жыл бұрын
@@startrekfanproductionsintl what version are you using (v16 or 17) also is it studio or free?
@startrekfanproductionsintl3 жыл бұрын
I am using 17.1.1 free version
@flipnap21123 жыл бұрын
@@startrekfanproductionsintl hmm, I would rewatch the video fro 2:06-3:25 @ important things, make sure your openFX overlay is on, or you wont see the line when you draw it (2:46) and also make sure you have "show paths in the keyer option, in the inspector". if this still doesnt work that very strange.

Dude, I'm begging for help on an issue that I'm having for a 5 second clip. I've dug through tutorials about keying with Resolve and cannot figure this out. I've taken a video I've shot on my iPhone in the .mov format. I've tried keying using every type that Resolve has. I need to import this with an alpha channel so that I can put it into OBS. I have reformatted the file type to .mp4 as well as kept it in a .mov format before running through the steps outlined in every single tutorial about this in order to export it properly. It produces two files, neither of which open properly in Windows natively and when I try opening the file in VLC it crashes the player. Seriously, nothing works and I'm at my wits end about this. Please provide any assistance you are comfortable giving outside of the steps I've already taken.
