I actually grilled some burgers on my pit barrel drum "smoker," in spite of dealing with the aftermath of hurricane Helene, and they were awesome. I truly appreciate your old school approach to grilling, which has slowly become a lost art. I will say that one piece of info that you left out is making sure the ground beef is very cold during the prep phase so that more of the fat can be retained. Cheers brother🍻

@@daddydiysolutions how do you guard against the fire flare ups when u cookn yo burgers? Thts like my biggest issue & wht leads to me peekn too much not letn the meat sit...

Flare-ups are definitely one of the trickier parts of grilling burgers, especially when using fattier blends like 75/25 or 80/20. Here are some tips that can help you manage those flare-ups and get perfect burgers: Use a Two-Zone Cooking Setup: Set up your grill with both direct and indirect heat zones. Start the burgers over direct heat for a good sear, and then move them to the indirect side if flare-ups start. This way, you can still cook the burgers without risking burning them. Choose Your Ground Beef Wisely: Using a 75/25 or 80/20 blend adds a lot of flavor due to the fat content, but fat also leads to more drippings, which can cause flare-ups. If you prefer the juiciness of a 75/25 blend, just be ready to move your burgers to the indirect side as needed to prevent flare-ups. An 80/20 blend is a good balance between flavor and manageability. Keep the Lid Closed to Control Oxygen: Keeping the grill lid closed as much as possible helps to limit the amount of oxygen reaching the flames, which helps to reduce flare-ups. If you need to check the burgers, try to do so quickly to avoid feeding the fire. I also made a video that goes into more detail on how to manage fire flare-ups when grilling burgers. You can check it out here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qoHdmYSKibF5i80. This video should give you all the tips you need to control those flames and cook perfect burgers every time!

Great video, I like how you explained how and why you cleaned your grill grates, it would’ve been more informative if you would’ve explained the negatives of not cleaning, lubricating and getting the grates hot before putting food on

Keith brother i did it , my burger ratio was 73/27 only thing I messed on was my dove sauce, it still was juicy; next thing is my cherry cola ham on my weber grill, I've use my char griller w/o smoker today but I also invested in the chargriller with smoker. Juicy burgers man!!! This is a awesome group!!!
