She was such a good girl through the whole groom. My little chi passed away two years ago and she was 14 years old. Her name was Candy and she was a beautiful red girl. You done a great job at cleaning her up! 💕🐾

We had a long hair chi that we HAD to keep shaved, because he had a skin issue and the longer fur kept the medicated shampoo from getting to the skin like it needed to. Sometimes, shaving a dog is for the good of the dog. You don't know just from watching a video. Anyways, such a sweet dog! Great job.

I have just had my long haired chihuahua girl shaved like this, and I love it. The groomer I went to left a little bit more on her head though. I basically just left it up to her. We're expecting a heat wave here in the UK over the next few weeks, so just want her to feel a bit more comfortable!

My chihuahua Leesa is almost 15 years old. She has no eyes, she had glaucoma, and we had to get her eyes removed.. She is pretty much bald, and covered with blackheads. She has been tested for Thyroid issues, adrenal gland issues, fungus, mange. You name it, she has been tested. Her skin and hair issues are a mystery. She has a chronic cough, a hernia, is missing most of her teeth, and she is losing weight. Her legs are weak. Please do not judge this family for shaving their dog. Once they get to be a certain age, you do what you have to just to make them comfortable, clean, and as healthy as possible.

Yes, there are schools. One in Arlington TX, California and other places that I have heard of. I learned through on the job training and the academy with Petsmart many years ago. Are you wanting to learn?

How old are you? Mid life, say 45 years old. I'm not far from that, I wouldn't start this career now unless you know deeply you love this. I would work around animals if you want to work around animals. For instance, video person, admin for a grooming facility, work at a boarding place, tons of jobs in this field. All hands on jobs but still around animals. Or, like I told another person on here, go volunteer with your local rescue groups first and see how you like that then take it to a career. Do you ever speak to the owners about the wight of the dog ? This one is fat. I have seen other dogs you trim thats also fat.

of course I mention it. But, in many cases, we humans are overweight too and how we eat and how we handle eating is shared by habit to the dogs we love. Right or wrong, I'm not to judge, I overeat and undereat sometimes. Shoot sometimes I don't drink any water through the day, at least my dogs drink water everyday, lol! I can say I want your baby to lose some weight, but it's not up to me or you to implement the routine at home. We are each our baby's parents you know and I wouldn't overstep my boundary. I am not shy to say something. But, I don't think there's a one of us that's perfect. You can only try. And at the most, try to be perfect within ourselves and just be there for others when we can.

Dede Croy i understand. I own a doggy daycare in sweden and 40% of the Swedish dog is overwight and the owner doesn know. They usually feel sorry and read more about it and the do something about it. You can just mention in a kinde way, youre doggie maby got a 1 extra kookie this month its a little round on the belly ;) Im fat but not my dogs. I know that it hurts me my back and my joints, i would not give my dog the same pain :)

I'm not fat but I'm not skinny. I know what you mean. I wouldn't want it for our pets either. But, tell that to my Saki when she gives David the "look". He thinks she's starving. I know she's not, but she is manipulative :) We can do as you said, mention it and do the best we can.
